You can do so much more for less by doing the party at your home or a park. What element do you like about Chuck E Cheese's? The food? Buy pizzas, heat them yourself. The games and having fun? You can do that. Look online and expand on what you like with all the ideas there. Seriously, at 4 years, cake (or cupcakes which are easier for them to eat) balloons, a couple of games and maybe a pinata are a party. Have it at a park and you have built-in entertainment, the playground equipment.

My guy's 4th is tomorrow at home, with the park behind our house in case they want to go play after games here, I like that I control everything.

My daughter's used to enjoy doing bowling parties. You'll need to do your research because they're not all equal. Some provide food, some you can bring in your own food. Some will give you a private room. It's been many years, but it was realitively inexpensive years ago.

At that age, home or the park is the easiest.
We had my son's 3rd birthday when were still in our little condo, balloons and balls inside, and a pinata on the patio.
Easy and cheap, and most of all, FUN!!! No need to travel to or set up at an outside space.

I am with GrammaRocks. Home or park is the best at that age. They just want to run, run, run.
