I'm wondering if any of you have any great ideas for a fun place to throw a 40th birthday celebration for my DH? I have 7 months to get it together so I thought if I asked now I could research all of my options. If any of you have any ideas I would love to hear them. I'm going to try to make it a surprise and there will be about 50 people on the guest list. Thanx in advance.
I think a mini golf park would be great there is a great one in Dallas at park and Audelia (Scottys) they have large party rooms and tons of stuff to do and its a great place for adult parties!

You may need to be more specific in your request to get the responses you're looking for. What exactly are you looking for and what are you planning for your budget? Are you looking at renting out a banquet hall, activity center, or restaurant? How far are you wanting to travel? What are his interests - golf, art, etc.?
If you want to stay local, there is Bill Bates Ranch and other banquet locations in McKinney and surrounding areas. In Dallas there's the "ball" or you could rent out the museum or art galleries. Activity-wise, there is Amazing Jakes, Dave & Busters, or even Exposure in Addison which is rock climbing.
More specifics are need to figure out exactly what you are looking for. Budget is the big question! Planning ahead is a huge plus!
A lot of hotels have banquet halls. You could have a sit down dinner, music, etc. This can also be down at a country club.
We went to a 40th party at Sullivan's Ringside. The area was rented out for the evening, light appetizers, live music and a lot of fun.
If you are not looking for a music, dance type of thing and you want more activities, how about a casino party?
