Can anyone tell me if Vons has good cakes. I want to try it out. I like Costco and Stater Bros. but im thinking Vons. so if anyone has any feed abck please help
My mother-in-law odered one of those cupcake cakes (clustered to make a certain shape and they put a thick layer of frosting on it and decorated it) for my son's birthday...didn't taste too great. This year, I ordered the same kind of cake from Albertson's and it tasted better.
Albertsons all the way!!! i just had a cake for my son's baptism and everyone raved about the cake!
The Vons on 19th Street & Carnelian in Alta Loma makes wonderful cakes! I get nothing but compliments when I order from them!!! I usually get an all white cake or marble with strawberries & custard filling and real whipped cream frosting ... mmmmm!
Grocery store cakes are usually sent to the store frozen from a main baking facility. Costco are the best store bought, I think.
I've taken to baking birthday cakes and my kids enjoy this so much more. They get to help bake it and lick the frosting spoon, of course. We have so much fun finding creative ways to decorate their cakes. Definietly a memory making experience.

Depends on the Vons. There is one near me in Covina that used to be great, but now it sucks.
We got a small cake at Vons in Placentia (the store is no longer there now), and it was very very icky! They could have improved by now, as this was a couple of years ago. But if you're looking for a good TASTING cake, Costco cakes are really very good. I just ordered one from there for a birthday party. Any cake you make at home is bound to be better than any store-bought cake, however!
