Best Treatment for Warts?

Apple cider vinegar. Soak a cotton ball in it and bandage over the cotton ball and the wart at night. Remove in the morning, repeat nightly till the wart falls off. It will develop black spots in the center and usually falls off shortly thereafter. My daughter had two large warts on her hands and the vinegar cleared them up in about a week.

Brush some nail glue on it every day for about a month. The wart will start to die every day, and then one day you will be able to pull it off. It will bleed a lot, but when it's gone it's GONE.

I didn't have time to read the other responses, but I do have the most unusual cure! Apple Cider Vinegar. Works like a charm. Before bed, just moisten a cotten ball, place it on it for a few minutes and the go to bed. Do it every night for a few nights and it will be gone in a few days.

A friend of mine actually uses a bandaid to hold the cotten ball on it overnight. I have never tried that. She said sometimes the skin will get irritated and kind of burn, just remove it and all is well.

As odd as it is, it really does work and is painless and inexpensive!

well, I've had good luck with the liquid removers. You just wash your hands and put it on. It makes like a white film. You do it twice a day for a couple of weeks. However, my son's pediatrician says that cutting out a little circle of duct tape and putting it on and leaving it there for a week will usually do the trick.

I'm not willing to have ducttape on my hand for a week, but if you son is, thats probably an easy solution.

I used oregano oil on my planters warts and this cured all of them without any pain at all (the house smelled like a pizza shop for awhile though!). I use Young Living Essential Oils and just rubbed it all over my feet and put on socks before bed. I did this every night before bed and after 2-3 weeks they were all gone. I’ve heard melaleuca oil does the same thing, but I haven’t needed it since I used the oregano oil.

If you are willing to go to the doctor and prefer not to have a painful procedure, Effudex from a dermatologist works very well. I had literally HUNDREDS on my leg and couldn't get rid of them--literally tried everything! It worked after I had tried other things for years. But just know that it is a virus so will likely pop up later.

My son had warts on his feet and we tried everything to get rid of them. In the end we used the duct tape and it actually worked. You don't have to leave it on all the time if you don't want to. I just wrapped his toe at night with duct tape and took it off when it looked like it was coming off anyway (usually by the next morning). It took a few weeks but one day I pulled the tape off and the whole wart came off with it and it's never grown back.

This is going to sound really dumb but it works. My som had a wart on his finger I took him to the Dr. about 5 times and they burned it but it didn't help so I did a little research and found duck tape. Just keep it covered for about a week. The lack of oxygen kills it.

I would send him to a dermatologist so you don't waste your time on things that may not work depending on the size, location, type, etc. My daughter had one and used a prescription acid liquid and it worked but it did take 6-8 weeks like they told us it would. Good luck.

I had warts when I was younger. I had some frozen off, one burned off (ouch!) and I tried the at home remedies from the store (Dr. Scholls', etc.) I asked a store clerk what they recommended and she said that sweet oil worked. You put it on the wart with a bandaid. I can't remember how often I did it, at least twice a day. The wart came off and I never had a scar. I haven't had a wart since.

My son had a bunch of warts on his feet last summer. You are probably going to wince at our treatment, but it honestly worked.

First, we'd use the Dr. Scholl's Wart Remover after he got out of the shower (it worked best when his skin was moist and soft). Then as the skin dried up I would use a flat razor blade over time to scrape away the dead skin. Actually I would just basically "free-hand" take of a very very thin slice of skin off the wart.

At night, we would first scrape the wart THEN put on the wart remover medicine.

We went through this at my house with my daughter many years ago. She had one wart removed by the doctor and it was very painful. We tried Compound W, with minimal success. What seemed to really work was duct tape, of all things. Just put duct tape on it, changing the tape every day. It took a couple of weeks I seem to remember, but it worked!

Just went through this with my son. Our doctor told us to use wart remover (generic) and duct tape. Twice a day, I applied the wart remover and then put duct tape over the wart, like a band-aid. Not too tight, watch the circulation. Duct tape does not "give" like band-aids. After about 4 days the wart was gone. It had been there for almost a year. My sister used this same remedy for her daughter. Absolutely pain free, unlike having it removed. Also, duct tape comes in several colors now. We bought blue and cut it into band-aid size strips. So, it looked like he had colored band-aids on his his finger. I think using the wart remover and duct tape together speeds up the process.

Duct tape worked for my daughter when nothing else did, including medical removal.

I had horrible warts on my fingers for months. I got them frozen and cut off by my dermatologist every 3 weeks, but they always grew back. Put tons of medicated liquid on it too- didn't help. What actually worked was working out and getting my body in better shape to fight off the infection. I know, that sounds weird, but it worked. Is your son active at school? If not, tell him to start walking to class and working out. It will help him fight the infection naturally, or make whatever medication he is taking work more effectively.

Duct tape-it really works.

Mediplast. Ask for it at the pharmacy counter at a drugstore or Target. You cut just a little piece off, of this big piece of sticking tape medicine, put a bandaid over it, and replace it every 2 days. For my kids, it takes about 2-3 weeks, and you can just peel that sucker right off, root and all. It works a lot better than the Dr. Scholl's brand, in my experience. Just remember to cut a really tiny piece just to put on the wart, not over any healthy skin tissue. Good luck!

Different people respond different to treatments. But the sooner you treat them the better! My 11 year old has had them for years. And we had them frozen last year and he hated that but not all went away. A few weeks ago we had the rest burned. That was much better for him but he still has to go back to get retreated. I have heard that putting a banana peal on them can help. I tired but didn't work but I think it's because my son's are so deep but know others that have had luck with it. My advice is try several of the methods you have given but if they don't work please get them treated by a dr. before they get really bad as they do spread. The less he messes with them the better.

I feel your pain! My son just had to have 5 surgically removed from the bottom of his foot ( over $600!) Since then he has had a few that we just used an over the counter liquid on - you have to use it nightly for a good while but honestly his were gone within the week of using it. Oddly enough, I have since heard that the stem juice in dandelions will make them go away also but I haven't tried that one. Good luck!
