So you're going to drive?......I would've said the Keys but that's a long drive for you. What about just stay in TX and go to South Padre? Or take a cruise out of Corpus Christi.......or maybe it's Galveston?
I'm getting married in February and we are trying to decide where to have our honeymoon. We are thinking about a beach somewhere. I don't like to fly, so we'd be traveling from the Dallas area. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

As far south as you can get. February is usually pretty brisk in the Sunshine State. Our "winter" is usually January and the first half of February. After that, it is hit or miss what you'll get. Could be 80, could be 58. On two consecutive days, lol.
We spent Christmas on St.George Island. We rented a house right on the beach, and it was awesome. It was outside of the tourist season, so we didn't have any crowds. In fact, we only saw 4 people on 'our' beach (the area in front of our house...) during our entire week-long stay. The ocean was chilly, but we were able to swim in it and have fun. I liked it a lot!
~We drove there from Georgia. :)
Our favorite place in Florida to spend time together as a family is North Captiva Island on the Gulf side of Florida. It is only accessible by boat or small plane and there are no motorized cars allowed on the island. Most of the island is state preserve land, but there are amazing beach houses to rent on the island. Now, there is nothing to do there besides exploring nature, swimming, kayaking, and just plain old relaxing. You have to bring your own groceries along as there isn't a grocery store and there are only a few small places to eat. It is an amazing place though. We enjoy going there because there it is unique and not crowded. In fact we were on the beach by ourselves most of the time we were there. Beaches surround the whole island and dolphins and manatees are a guaranteed sight. I know it would probably be far for you to drive there, but just thought I'd throw the idea out there. It is a bit like literally being stranded on a desert island :)
My husband and I honeymooned in Indian Rocks Beach. Rented a house right on the Gulf of Mexico and it was surprisingly affordable. It was beautiful and the food was unbelievable. Not sure what you like to do, but Busch Gardens in Tampa is close by and they have a great zoo. Also, there are a lot of little beaches and boat accessible smaller islands in that area. We keep talking about going back for our 10 year anniversary. :)
You don't fly at all?? Plan for a long drive. We fly if a drive is over 2 hrs. Time is more valuable than driving all day.. Safer too
Miami - South Beach is a favorite if ours ( no children)
Marco Island was great this past July
Sandestin is our spring break spot ( can be chilly!!)
Enjoy
Sarasota, Sanibel, Captiva?
Sanibel and Captiva off the coast of Florida are wonderful but would be a very long drive from Dallas.
If you are looking for beach weather and activities, I would say go as far south as you can, February is our coldest month. I like the cruise idea, and captiva is also very nice for the west coast.
I would say to try to get something a little farther south in February. It can be unpredicatble. Destin and that area of FL are GORGEOUS, but can be chilly in February. I got married in February in Sarasota (an hour south of Tampa) in 2003 and it was FREEZING that day! We were all so cold trying to take pictures out by the water. Naples is beautiful and is farther south. I would look into something there or maybe the Keys. Key West can be a bit much, but Key Largo is a little more laid back. Clearwater and St. Pete Beach are nice too, but again, could be cold. I would try to find something in south FL. Ft. Lauderdale is pretty too (that is where we are now...just moved here a few months ago). The W hotel on Ft. Lauderdale beach is gorgeous! Hope you find somewhere fantastic. Enjoy!
My favorite beach is in the Destin, FL area. It may or may not be warm but for your honeymoon, do you care??? It's off season in the panhandle so it will be less expensive than the peninsula. I do love Tampa and it has the big city feel and a lot to do. Destin is half the drive time...
