I was formerly a veterinary technician. I would not feed a dog cow's milk as they lack the proper digestive enzymes to digest it.

I would not. Give him puppy food, softened in water if it is too crunchy for him. Cow's milk is for baby cows, not dogs.

No. They only need a good brand of puppy food (until they are 1 year old and then change to adult food) and water. I would recommend calling the veterinarian if you have concerns about what and how much to feed the puppy. I hope you have taken her/him to the vet for a checkup, shots, and spaying/neutering. There are also a lot of good websites for dog care.

Nope! He needs puppy food and water. Milk will cause diarreah. He also will need training or you'll have a real pain on your hands.

No milk for puppy. Many commercial foods are horrible to feed your puppy, as they have grains, and "meat by-products" which may be chicken feet, heads, roadkill, and millions of euthanized pets end up in the food chain.
Go to www.dogaware.com and read about the best kinds of commercial food. My own dogs eat the raw diet and are superbly healthy. They also eat fruits as treats, and all "human grade" food. Also, in order to maintain his weight, dogs should only get 2% of their ideal body weight as they approach "adulthood". Puppies need more than that.

Absolutely NOT!!!! No dog (or cat) should be fed "people" food. Their digestive systems are not the same as ours. And milk, in particular, is just a bad idea. It's still up for debate about giving cow's milk to humans. It's a myth that it is good for cats and it is absolutely not good for dogs. It may seem like a "treat" to give pets something, but it is just doing them harm in the long run. Your dog should only have food and treats that are high quality, do not contain by-products, do not contain corn and are not brightly colored. It may seem bland, but they don't know differently and it is for the best in the long run. There is a high incidence of diabetes in dogs who are given people food.

I would skip the milk, it can upset their tummies. A lick or two probably won't hurt him, but a bowlful wouldn't be a great idea. If you are looking for a treat try a little wet food, regular dog cookies, a small bite of plain cooked chicken or hamburger or a little peanut butter. Make sure since he/she is a puppy you are feeding at least three small meals a day and since it is a beagle as he/she gets older make sure to watch their weight. They are wonderful little dogs and have lots of energy! Have fun and enjoy puppyhood!

Not sure about the milk but good luck with your beagle. We have friends that have 2 beagles. They don't listen and are tearing up the carpet by going where they want and clawing at it. I recommend getting it in obedience school ASAP to try and avoid these issues they didn't do it in time and the bad habits are set in at this point. They are very cute dogs though. Good luck.
