Hm. When I sync my phone on my computer, iTunes automatically backs up my photos.
So...there's that.
Hi Moms,
How do you back up the photos on your phone? I put them on the computer and now am going to back them onto an external drive, but am still scared to delete from the phone just in case the computer is stolen and the drive crashes. Maybe I'm a little nutty, but the photos are just so irreplaceable. In the future, I'm going to make an effort to print more of the good ones and put in an album - that feels tangible and safer somehow (in addition to back ups). But for now -- what do you all do to ensure your precious photos are safe? Thanks!

Put them on a flash drive or a CD.
I was talking to a professional photographer last week who feels that our kids & future generations arent going to have the experiences like we do of looking at/running across old photos of relatives/ancestors because people don't print out their pictures anymore. So, yeah, print some from time to time!
I back them all up on my computer, then put them on a terabyte drive and burn them onto CD. I haven't had any printed up recently though, just haven't gotten around to it. We use a regular digital camera for the bulk of our pictures and only use the camera for those quick spur of the moment shots that you can't resist while doing basic day to day stuff.
My husband used to back them all up to the cloud. His phone had to be restored or something for some reason, I don't remember what happened. We now can't get any of the picutres back off the cloud. They're just sitting there, untouchable. He immediately stopped backing them up on the cloud. We now back his phone up to our computer as well. Still trying to find out how to get those pictures off the cloud.
You can sync your mobile photos to facebook now if you want to use that option. You don't have to make them all visable to everyone.
We use dropbox..... it uses the cloud for storage, but you can also access it from your computer... just don't forget your passwords.
Any photo I take on my phone automatically uploads to dropbox, as well.
If you are that worried, find an online place to back them up. I would print them just because I like having printed pictures. (I also prefer print books to e-books and vinyl to digital)
Print them. It's the only way to feel safe. And then the house could burn down. We have always been attached to our photos, but in the big scheme of things..... it could all be gone in an instant.
I keep a LOT of facebook, at least we know it will be around for awhile.
You can move them form the computer to a flash drive. Or you can e-mail them to a photo processing site, but instead of having them printed, have them put onto a disc (I do this at Walgreens - done in an hour). We have both discs AND flash drives in our fireproof safe.
Go get an iPhone. Then all the pictures from your phone back up to iCloud and back up to all your other devices (iPad, iMac, iPod, whatever... ;) Makes life very simple.
Okay, you don't need an iPhone to back up your photos. Especially if you cannot afford such an expensive phone. I have a Blackberry Torch. I have a memory card that I store my pictures on my phone so they are never actually stored directly to my phone. Now, I have an adapter that I can use for the memory card and insert it directly into my computer to back up the pictures, OR, I simply plug my phone into my computer and upload all the new pictures. I also back up my pictures on an archival gold DVD.
