Baby Weigh In

Hey moms,

Does anyone know where I could have my babies weight checked for free? Possibly locally.

I know in Australia (where I'm from) they have medical centers that provide free weight checks for breastfed babies. Is there anything similar??? Or do I need to invest in baby scales?

What can I do next?

Well you could find the local health center. They would probably do it for free. But why? Are you worried about your baby? If you are worried then call your doctor. If you are just wondering your baby's weight then just stand on your scale, get off, pick up baby and get back on. It's not going to be 100% accurate but pretty darn close. This is what i do when I'm wondering how much my chunky babies have put on in between appointments.

What you're looking for here is the 'Lactation Department' that is in hospitals. It's typically a free service at the hospital you give birth in.

Have you tried La Leche. Here's the website. http://www.lalecheleague.org/
I have never been but I had a friend who went to some of their meetings. Maybe they can help. Good luck.

Your pediatricians office may be willing to do it, if you explain that you don't want to see the doctor just have a weigh in.
