My seven week old girl does not smile very much. The Doctor said it was ok not to see any smiling until 2 months or so butI remember other children being more smily at this age.

What can I do next?

I wouldn't worry if she isn't smiling yet. Yes, children develop at diffrent rates and some will do things sooner than others, but to worry about it will only drive you insane. Your daughter will smile when she is ready, and as long as your doctor has no conserns the only thing you can do is wait. Good luck

my first smiled it seemed like when he was first born, my second smiled in her sleep but never when she was awake until alittle over two months now my third smiled after a couple of weeks and still does now at 6 months....don't worry she will get there don't rush them soon enough she will be walking and talking and you will wish she was still your little baby...

My daughter was the same way. My first child smiled at three weeks, so I was expecting the same for my second. My doctor also said it was normal. We weren't able to easily "get" her to smile until two months or so. She was a really fussy baby with some pain issues, so I personally don't think she had much of a reason to smile. Now, at eleven months, she smiles all the time. Good luck!
