Where in hebron, Indiana do I find a sitter for in my home . It would only be between one and three days per week. Right now for one child almost 2 and during the summer for a total of three ages almost two years old , 6 and 9. I have tried daycare centers but they charge you even if you don't need them all week. Any suggestions....

What can I do next?

Hi V.,

Short-term, you can try sittercity.com - for your area, these sitters come up:

http://babysitters.sittercity.com/search_sitters.html?&am...

It's a little hit or miss, you may have to interview a couple before hiring one, but it has the advantage that you can select babysitters with a background check and specify any needs you may have: driving, first aid knowledge, etc.

The other option is to join a local parenting support group, like MOMS club. You can meet other moms there wiyh kids of different ages and consider swapping babysitting duties.

Lastly, check with your church, hight school, or local library - they may have leads on childcare services or babysitters.

Regrettibly child care cneters have to pay the teachers whether children are there or not. It is a sad fact but those teachers depend on a job that pays them a pretty regular income so they can make their bills. It's really hard to tell a teacher, oh by the way some of your kids won't be her except m, w, and f so you only get to work on those days. I know how frustrating that is for parents who just need part time care.

I suggest looking for a Methodist Church in your area and check into a Mothers-Day-Out program. All the ones in my area are with that type of Church so I was thinking it may be something they do as a community service. One of ours is t and th from 9am until noon. The other is m, w, and f from 10-3. Some other churches also have them but I don't know about your area. With ours you have to pay an enrollment fee and designat what days you want them to come. We go on Wed and Fri. We send a lunch with the kids and sleep mats. if you don't go you don't pay but if you miss too much they might ask you to allow another child to take those days if they have a waiting list.

Here are some links I found when I googled mothers day out in Hebron IN:

Have you tried Kids Kingdom, on the corner of Park Place & Rt. 2 .....I think they charge by the hour.
