Just wondering if anyone was able to attend this yesterday(2-16)? I am interested in going in March but wanted to hear what people had to say about it. Thanks

What can I do next?

I didn't go, but I've only heard a few negative comments about it. The lighting was dark and the music was way too loud. I also heard that the snacks were a waste and the little goodie bag they leave with had a special girl treat, but nothing special for the boys. It was not an enjoyable time for the small group of moms that commented on it. One mom did say that she would go again next year and see if her child enjoyed it any better.

Check it out online: http://babylovesdisco.com/locations/detroit/

It was a BLAST (and sold out)!!! My kids dressed themselves in "disco princess" garb as did a lot of other kids. They gave ID bracelets at the door for security purposes (great idea!) and they served FREE snacks of cheese, crackers, fruit and vegs platters, chips & pretzels, hummus and other dips, Hersey kisses and juice boxes. Plus they gave each kid a favor bucket filled with bubbles, a beach ball, music CD, and some other stuff. There was a photographer taking pics and uploading them to a laptop so you could view yourself (and purchase your pics online). The place was super clean and friendly and the dance floor was stocked with hula hoops, scarves and egg shakers. The kids had a ball with these! The only thing I want to warn you about was the noise level. It was as loud as a regular (adult) nightclub and one of my kids felt really uneasy on the dance floor -- where the music was loudest. Even downstairs at the "chill out area" it was pretty loud for little ears. BTW, the music and DJ rocked! The kids and parents danced to YMCA, Last Dance, Billy Jean, and a ton of Bee Gees hits. Oh, and even though it says it's appropriate for ages 0-7 years, I think 3-6 years is a better fit.

I would totally go again! Worth the $13 EACH tix charge.

P.S. I went dressed as a "disco Mom", but was disappointed that no other moms came dressed up for the event. :(

I cheked it out on You-tube--very neat idea. My kids are older, but if they were young I would take them. I know it says 16, but my daughter is 13, and there is no way she would go.

WOW! Sounds like so much fun! I have been trying for a few months to bring this to Grand Rapids. Still waiting on them to respond.

Hopefully soon!

I took my son (15 months)and it was way too much for him. The music was loud and the club, while clean, was very dark (i.e. regular bar lighting). We ended up spending all our time downstairs in the chill out area where he played with toys almost identical to the ones he has at home. I ended up wishing that I spent the $32 ($13/pp plus $6 to check our coats) on something else that he'd enjoy more. Don't get me wrong - its a super cute idea in concept, but wasn't for my little guy - probably better suited for the 3-6 age range. I was really excited to attend this event, but we won't be back in March.

I was also a little bummed that the swag bag we got on the way out contained nothing boy specific. He doesn't really need a pair of pink legwarmers. But the CD was nice.
