Baby Kicking My Bladder?

Hi again. I'm pregnant with my first in my 23rd week and I finally have been able to recently recognize the baby movements which are becoming more frequent lately. I was confusing them before with gas bubbles, but they felt different that I figured it out. Anyway, these little movements also seem to be causing bad bladder spasms, almost like the baby is kicking my bladder. Is it possible that this is what is happening?

What can I do next?

I swore that my 3rd one was using my bladder as a water bed. I had to pee all the time. :-))

I swear my son(who I didn't know was a son at the time) camped out there. He also kicked between ribs, and I could feel his foot there more than once.

If it is bothering you, ask your OB doc. He/She can properly give you reassurance, but from experience, yeah, they start camping there around that time.

Hope this helps.

I remember when I was pregnant, it felt like one kid had my bladder in his hand and he punched it all the time. Yes, it sure can feel like that! I also felt like he was kicking my ovary as well.

Oh, and my daughter used to kick my diaphram from the inside until she turned, and then she kicked other parts. But, yes, they are good at getting spots that you didn't even know about! The joys of pregnancy.

It's possible the baby is kicking near your bladder, however it seems strange he or she would keep kicking in the same spot. I remember with both of my previous pregnancies the baby would occasionally kick near what felt like my bladder and it would certainly catch my attention, but it wasn't on a regular basis. Check with your Dr. if it's really bad and happening regularly.

Don't you just hate that!

All the ladies are right. I know you're miserable!

One night my son got his toe down towards the top of one leg and I was in tears, it hurt so much. My husband put his hand there and pushed, feeling that foot, and finally my little drummer boy thought better of it and moved his foot out of there. Blessed relief!

Make sure you talk to the doctor about this, and describe these bladder spasms. He or she needs to know about them.

Feel better!
Dawn

Yep, it's possible.
As the baby grows they tend to finally get large enough so they pop out above your hips and you get some blissful relief until they drop again the last month or so.
But when they get higher, you'll get heartburn and acid stomach, so it's a trade off.
You might be able to shift him a bit if you if you get on your hands and knees for a little while.

Yes, possible.

When I felt mine hanging out down there, I didn't like the pressure and nudged him up. He got the hint and stayed high. I never actually felt him on my bladder.

I would say yes, that is possible.

When I was pregnant, my daughter ended up placing herself so that I could not pee at all... I ended up in the ER. In the end, I wore a catheter for 2 weeks until she finally readjusted herself.

I was at the Dr. office a lot during the 2 weeks to be monitored but in the end, everything was fine.

She is almost 18 now.
