Baby Earrings

My 11 month DD's ears are pierced (and look super cute!) They are healed now to the point that I can change her earrings out for different ones. I was just wondering what the best option for earrings would be, and where to get them. So far the only thing I can come up with is to buy her new piercing earrings that come with that special back. I know that there are screw-back and safety-back earrings. On those, are the posts completely covered like the piercing earrings are? And where can I buy them? I would greatly prefer that the posts are covered. Thanks mommas! :)

What can I do next?

The safety backs at walmart didn't work for us.
It's hard to explain but you have to have the backing so close to the front of the stuf that it would have been squeezing the earlobe. And if you don't screw it all the way down, then they will work themselves free (like they did with us). You can go there and ask to see them....screw them down then pull straight out and they will usually come apart.
I got my girl another pair of piercing earrings and just filed the point down on them a little bit, and I also buy the 5 dollar hypoallergenic 8 pack of earrings at walmart and use the backings that are small plastic tubes....they stay on pretty well.
My problem is my girl is a wild sleeper and even piercing earrings will come out eventually lol, so I haven't found one thing that works long term...yet. =)

You can just buy the safety backs. I found some at WalMart (just because I happened to be there and see them.) I'm sure you can get them at Claire's or any other jewelry store. They should fit onto any regular earrings. You might even be able to use the backs that came with her piercing earrings. I'm thinking that the post on the piercing earrings might be thicker than a regular post though.

Kohls has tiny hoops that fasten easily and stay fastened. They look so cute.

I have not had any luck with the safety backs, she still loses the earrings all the time. I love the look of hoops, but caught my hoop on something (when I was a kid) and it tore my ear a little. It scares me to do that. I stick with piercing earrings and it works so well. Look at ebay for better selection and prices. I also stick with piercing earrings because when I tried other earrings, they seemed to bother her ears. I stick with 14C gold and like how the piercing earrings to not touch the back of her ear and give a little breathing room.

well your last responce was quite rude!! I think earings are very cute and i have my daughters done also. We will be to the point of being able to change them soon and i just plan on going to kohls, clairs, or walmart to by some nice 14k earings for babies. All places sell them. Even if i buy more of the piercing earings. But i think any place that has earings will sell what you need. I see nothing wrong with piercing a baby's ears and when my kids are 18 if they want a tattoo i will buy them thier first one!

We use the piercing earrings from Piercing Pagoda and haven't had a bit of trouble with them in all 16 months. I tried the screw-on baby earrings, but the backs are so shallow that they have to be re-screwed and tightened every day, which didn't go over well. So we went back to these which we both love- no touching necessary!
