I have three kids and my last pregnancy was like that. He was low the whole time and I started having contractions earlier than I remembered w/ my first two kids. I called the Nurseline at my Dr office and they said it was normal. Of course you always want to mention your concerns to your Dr but sounds normal to me.

With my second I started feeling him low in the second trimester and then I would have all this crazy pressure like he was going to fall out any minute!! But no no he stayed nice and cozy to 40 weeks:) I am definitely not saying you will have the pressure thing!! But it could just be the normal thing of you being looser and more flexible now that you have had a baby. I mentioned it to my dr and she checked me out and all was just fine so I say run it by your dr and get checked most likely just to put your mind at ease. Congrats:)

Hey S.!
I'm a doula here in Austin with getbabied.com, and I'm a mom of 2 with one in the oven, and I can definitely say each pregnancy is different. And, yes, your second can feel really low for a long time, even at your 2nd trimester. My second was so low at his 18week ultrasound, the techs had a hard time finding his head. (It was that low into my pelvis.) With second or third time moms, they also don't necessarily feel their baby drop right before giving birth, b/c either the baby has already been engaged for some time, or it does it during labor. It's also normal to start feeling contractions earlier. Sometimes what feels like a contraction, though, could totally be your bowels moving. :).

I am 32 weeks and with this pregnancy he has been head down and very low the entire time.... at least since he was big enough to feel where he was. Completely different than my first pregnancy(breech and everywhere). Because everything about this pregnancy has been so different I have been overly concerned, especially with that, but everyone and my assure me it is not a problem and infact what it is supposed to be like. As long as you don't have real contractions or leaking of fluids then I wouldn't worry about it.

The baby probably turned head down. That's probably what you are feeling...

If you are worried, have your doctor check it out. Trust your motherly instincts. They are usually right.
