I had the Jeep Brand version of this and really didn't like it much for my son. I actually made my own Moby Wrap from cotton stretch fabric I found at the fabric store. You can find the no saw directions on the net. I can use it several different ways and it is so much better on my back and it doesn't strain my sons boy parts.

I LOVED my Bjorn!!! And I'm saving it for my next baby. It was so easy to use. And very stable. Easy on my back too! :)

I think it would be worth taking your double stroller. First of all, Baby Bjorns are expensive. Second, it can be very nice to not be commited to one child stapped on your person at all times. I personally have a Baby Bjorn and thought it was cumbersome to have my child strapped on front. I hear awesome things about the slings that people are buying, as there are more positioning options (such as to the side).

I love the Ergo Baby carrier - check it out online. It's different from the others, a bit expensive, but you can carry up to 40+ lbs. You need to get the infant insert for it, but my big guy (9 mos.) loves it. Older babies can be carried on the front, hip, or back. Infants front only, but it's wonderful for traveling.

Good luck!

Hi J.,

I have the Baby Bjorn and my little one LOVES it, so I think its a MUST, however, I do not know how it compares to other infant carriers. My little one is now 4 months and at the age where he does not like to be cradled, but carried upright, so I even use it when I am just walking around the house, the grocery store, etc. It allows me to be close to him and talk to him about what we are both seeing when he is forward-facing in it.

I think an infant carrier is a good buy, and I like the Baby Bjorn, but it is more pricey that other carriers and I do not know how it compares comfort wise.

Oh and when my little one was a newborn he actually used to fall asleep in it when he was facing me. It allowed us to snuggle and be close while I could still use my hands.

I should also add that my husband loves to wear the Bjorn and he not always 100% comfortable holding the little one the way he likes it.

I love my baby bjorn! We just got back from a trip & brought the little umbrella stroller for the 2 year old & I wore the baby in the baby bjorn-super easy & mine is always content in it. The only downside is you really can't pick up your older one. Not a big deal for me but thought I should mention it. Also, if you do bring your stroller, you can take it through security & all the way down the walkway on the plane & then you get it back right as you exit the plane so it is "gate checked" and that is usally a pretty safe bet. If you are lugging carseats, you'll probably want your stroller anyway to cart them. Even if you end up with the double stroller, the baby bjorn is wonderful! I bought mine new, but I've had friends buy them at Kid to Kid or Once upon a child with great sucess. Or you could try craigslist.
Oh & I also have a hotsling but i'm just not as comforstable with that-you can go to The Nesting Place in grapevine & check out some different slings and try them on but they don't have the baby bjorns.
Hope this helps! Good luck with your trip!

Defintely worth the money! I had a snuggli with #1 and it was horrible-hurt my back and shoulders like crazy. We bought a bjorn with #2 and used it with her and #3 then gave it to a friend for her son and she loved it as well. In regards to the price, yes it's high but it so worth it but if its an issue I know that the Kid to Kid in Bedford always has a slew of the bjorn carriers for sale and they are at a great price. Both my little ones loved the carrier although mine was NOT a bjorn. I didn't see spending the extra $$ for what looked to be the same type of thing. I had a snugli that I purchased at a consignment sale for $5. Both loved it and it worked great. I think they are anywhere from $20-$40 at Target/Walmart. Good luck.
