Baby Acne

My son had baby acne as most infants do, but his case was a little worse than my daughters and it lasted longer it seemed too. Now he has scars from it, quite a few. It is very noticeable, but I don't really care cause he is gorgeous to me. My question is will it fade over time? Has anyone else had their baby's skin scar as a result of this and did you notice fading after time or did it stay the same. As I said I am not worried that much about it and don't really notice it unless someone points it out. Any advice and opinions would be appreciated!

My friend was told to try Dove soap. So she did and it worked great. Her 6 week little boy looks so cute anyway, but Dove cleared up his acne. Give it try... is much cheaper than Arbone or MK.

I was totally freaked about all three of my little monkeys acne - was bad. And I have to admit I'm a crazy picker and so these little lovelies even sometimes had to endure me scratching at their beautiful little faces - upshot of the story - 10 years old, 3 years old and 11 months old - not a scar in sight.
So, while all the mentioned products are probably great - time is free and works totally.

Hi K.,

All three of my babies had acne and had scars as a result. Baby skin is very resilliant. Skin keeps making new cells everyday and over time scars do fade.

My kids broke out when they were babies too. My pediatrician told me to quit using baby bath lotions, just warm water to clean baby's face. Sure enough, the condition cleared up. It seems my baby's skin was too sensitive for even the mildest of those lotions and soaps. As for the scars, they will fade over the upcoming months. Good luck.

I see a lot of advice to put creams on your baby's face! Let me assure you that the scars will fade on their own. My daughter and my nephew had acne scars as infants and toddlers. Now, at 7 and 5, they have beautiful, creamy skin, with no hint that there was ever a mark there. My brother and I did nothing, nature did it all.

If it is the scares you are worried about which is normal just for that fact that when he gets older he will have to live with that on his face. There is a vitamin E oil that works really goog. I had thyroid cancer and they ended up having to take my while thyroid out leaving me with a scare on my neck from one side to another. It looked like a big smiley face to tell you the truth. So the dr. told me to use some scare cream I think it was called Mederma scar cream and I did use it for about a month and my scar stayed the same, so I went back to my doctor and he told me to start using some vitamin E oil that you can find it the healthy living section of a store and believe me within 2 weeks my scare started to lighten up. Within 2 months it was hardly noticable to the human eye, not till I pointed it out at least. So you can try that.

I know Arbonne and Mary Kay are two excellent lines of products, but I will say that when we tried them on my neighbor's baby, she broke out in a terrible rash from them. So, if you ge that route be careful.

I would talk it over with your pediatrician. I do know that vitamin E oil helps scars fade, but I don't know how safe it is for babies.

K.,
Try the Arbonne line. All my clients (yes, I have an Arbonne Business) who have had to deal with baby acne, cradle cap, ecezma or diaper rash in the past have tried lots of other solutions before trying Arbonne. They now swear by the Arbonne Baby line.

Yes, acne can cause permanent scarring at any age including babies but there are products that can help fade that damage. Most baby acne lasts a short while so you don't necessarily need to keep your baby on a treatment for very long.

Please contact an Arbonne rep for a free sample and give it a try. Our products are pure, safe, and beneficial and guaranteed to produce the results you want or there is a 45 day money back guarantee.

I've been with Arbonne for several years and have not had any product returned because someone was dissatisfied with the results.

Good Luck and have fun with your little ones.

I don't have any experience with this but it sounds like the acne cause some damage. You may want to talk it over with your pediatrician and may be able to get referred to a dermatologist who can best answer the questions you have. As I said, I don't know, but it seems to me that kids heal really fast from everything, I would think it would fade over time.

I used a mild fragrance-free baby soap followed by a lotion on his cheeks and forehead every day. It went away in no time! I used Arbonne's soap and lotion, but I'm sure there are others out there.

My daughter had baby acne and all i did was use johnsons baby shampoo on her face and it cleared and as for the scars. I used proactive on my daughter and she did fine with it if you choose to try that i would test a small area on his arm or leg for any reaction. Good Luck=)

Hi K.,

All the other responses to your question were all talking about baby acne. Baby acne does go away and fade on its own. My two daughters had baby acne. My son had acne that went behind baby acne and was regular acne when he was a toddler. It is totally different from baby acne. How old was he when he had it? My son's toddler acne absolutely needed to be treated by a dermatologist much differently than baby acne, and has really obvious scarring from it. The only reason he has scarring now is because we let it go on so long because our pediatrician told us it was baby acne. We moved and got a new pediatrician and the first day she saw him, she said oh he absolutely has to see a dermatologist right away. she was right and the dermatologist cleared it up right away with some topical medicine. That was when he was one. He is six years old now and the scarring seems more obvious than ever. Our dermatologist when we saw her on our final visit three years ago said that there really isn't anything we can do about it now. I was just out looking to see if there were any new ideas online in the medical field. I have read that vitamin E can actually sometimes make scarring worse. I guess I am going to have to go back to the dermatologist and see what's next now. I am curious, what is your son's scarring like nine years later, after you posted this? Thanks!
