B/G Twins 3Rd Birthday Party Feb 1St

My twins turn 3 on Feb 1st. I'm having a hard time finding something fun and unique to do that will satisfy both my boy and girl. I really don't want the expense of two parties at this age. It's still cold in Feb, so I thought a winter something might be cute. I'm not really enthused about a bounce house or Chuck E Cheese of any sort (we did that last year). Any sweet ideas??

The natatorium in Denton is reasonably priced (I think anyway), less expensive than Chuck e cheese. It could be for both boy and girl. For basic party it is $120 includes birthday cake, and drinks Or around $150 and you get bday cake, drinks and pizza.
Also Bonkers in Lewisville is a really cool place in the Mall parking lot by Dillards. website is www.gobonkers.com
I hope this helps!

I have a boy and a girl. They are not twins, but close in age and their bdays are only a week apart so while they were young we did a couple of bday parties for them together. One of the cutest was a "Birthday Under The Big Top" circus party. The little guests could come dressed as clowns if they wanted (or a circus animal). We had face painting, a juggler, etc. We rented a cotton candy maker and an old fashioned popcorn maker/cart. Different "circus games". It was fun for all!

My b/g twins just turned 3 in November. I am also a SAHM mom, and our budget is pretty tight. I rented a pavilion in the park, and just prayed that the weather was nice. It was about 60 that day, so very tolerable. The kids had a place to play, and it didn't hardly cost a thing. We did a Veggie Tales theme. My kids just love them, and it is a great theme for both of them. I bought some balloons, plates, napkins, and cups on the website (bigidea.com) Then, I just went to the dollar store and bought some red/green decorations. I also bought some small clay pots, and the kids painted them when they first got there. I used kitchen trash bags as aprons while the kids were painting. After they dried, we planted tomato and cucumber (for Bob and Larry) seeds in the pots. While my kids were opening presents, I had my mom wrap up the pots for the kids to take home as party favors. The kids seem to have a lot of fun.

Perhaps a double theme party- where everyone can dress up... have the girls come as princesses and the boys come as a super hero.

Then you can have games and fun... 2 cakes- one shaped like a crown and one like your son's favorite super hero. Or better yet, make cupcakes and let them decorate.

if you have a church home- perhaps you can use thier fellowship hall, or a local community center room.

Just some thoughts.

Want a great $$$ saving idea for 3 year olds' birthday? Cici's Pizza. I did this for my twins' 3rd b-day, and it was so cheap! I hadn't even thought about it beforehand. My kids just love Cici's, and kids 3 and under eat free. Most of their friends were 3 and under, therefore free. I just had to pay for the parents and older children. We had planned on doing a pinata outside but it started to pour rain. The Cici's we went to actually let us string the pinata up from the rafters. The party went over great and only cost about $50. Much less hassle than Chuck E Cheese and a lot cheaper.

Sunday, the 14th, I had my son's 4th birthday party at MONKEY BUSINESS in Bedford. It is a really great place, and it is full of unisex activities and fun! The cost to rent the room is very reasonable, and you can bring in your food, decorations, etc. I highly recommend it for safe, indoor play.

My niece has B/G twins and what she did was have one party, but each child had their own theme. The little girl is very very girly and of course the boy is all boy.
Each of them had their own small cake of one flavor then the other would have another flavor. Each decorated to what they would want their party to be.

If you are not already a member of a MOM (mothers of multiples) group I would strongly urge you to as my niece really enjoys it.

Little Gym is the best! We had my daughter's 2nd & 3rd b-day parties there and have been to many others. They do all of the entertaining - you just provide cake and food if you want. Good luck!

C.: It looks like you have gotten a lot of great ideas already. I recently went to a place called "Monkey Business" in Bedford over by Kid to Kid off of Central. It is an indoor play area, pretty nice, and they do have parties. You can bring your own stuff (food/drinks) or they can provide it. Just a thought if you do not want to have a party at your house. You may want to take your twins there to play one day. It is $7 per child but worth it to me when the weather is cold you little ones need to play and run around. Good luck!

There is a place in Lewisville called "Going Bonkers". It is great for boys and girls. It is an indoor jungle gym like thing. They also have a few games. My b/g twins who are now 6 love it. You can have a party or just pay per kid if you don't want the party room. Not sure about the prices.

Make your own stuffed animal- like build a bear without the mall hassle- perfect for all ages and boy or girl-
She comes to you!
Give her a buzz and she can give you all the details.

If you have the party in your home- why not enjoy yourself- have a party angels or two to assist with the set up - serving- tending to guest- cleaning up - getting out the cake- all that needs to be done while you enjoy your children!
I have a ton of vendors I can refer you to- all amazing people- bounce toys rental- photographers- sno to go is also a great indoor idea as well- Give me a buzz - even if you don't need Party Angels- I can set you up with very reliable people for everything else.

Both of these were suggested to you already, but if you aren't already familiar with them, I'd like to tell you more! My children preferred co-ed parties until they were in elementary school, so we usually ended up alternating between Gymboree Play & Music and The Little Gym for their parties. For a very reasonable rate you get the entire gym and staff for your party, with the activities customized for your children. I can't say enough about how fantastic these parties can be! My husband got "bored" with doing a gym party for every birthday as the years went by, so we began to try other things, and he hasn't liked any of the other parties as well (the kids, of course, have a fantastic time anytime they are the center of attention and are surrounded by friends, but also have the best memories from their Gymboree and TLG parties). As a parent, it doesn't get any easier or more fun! The Little Gym and Gymboree provide everything but the cake and plates/napkins/plastic silverware/cups, which allows you plenty of freedom with the party theme (I love the idea of letting each child pick plates/napkins/etc), while keeping it simple. The day of the party, you just show up with the birthday boy and girl, cake, plates, etc, and any supplemental party favors you might want (there will be favors provided) about 15 minutes before the party starts, and then the children are completely engrossed in the fun (and have a chance to use all that manic three-year-old-birthday-party energy in a productive, fun and supervised way). You are free to actually VISIT with other parents (how often do you get to do that?!) and/or film/photograph the party.

As to which I prefer (Gymboree Play & Music or The Little Gym), I chose based on where we lived/which was closer to more of the invitees and/or which one the birthday child was then taking classes. I had fantastic parties at the Gymboree in Plano, and the Little Gym in Dallas (Preston-Forest), Richardson, and Allen/McKinney (TLG Allen moved to McKinney...same staff; I've had parties at both locations). I've never hosted or been to a party at either where the children didn't ALL have a wonderful time.

Good luck to you! I'm sure your children will have a fantastic 3rd birthday!

I was thinking about one of the pottery painting places for my daughters 3rd birthday. I have never had a party at any of them so I can not recommend a certain one, but my daughter loves to paint so I thought it would be perfect. Plus all of the kids would be able to keep a piece of art work from their party.

If you need invitations let me know www.WorkofaWink.com. I can make a custom design for you very affordabely.

Hi, I'm a 40 year twin and my brother and I never had seperate parties growing up. My parents always made a big celebration and just kept it theme neutral. Like a circus theme, cowboy/cowgirl, rock n roll, etc...we have great memories from our parties! We never had sleep over parties but we always had twice as many friends! Sleep overs were done other times of the year when we could choose a few friends taking turns. I would never have even thought of celebrating without my brother or at a seperate time. Good luck! Just have fun with it.

I don't have twins, but both my kiddos when they were 3 years old had a party at "My Gym/Jungle Gym" in Frisco - there are lots of these little gyms around the area. Check into it. It was affordable and we got to invite a lot of kiddos (the # escapes me now - maybe 16?), but that might allow lots of friends if they have different or a lot of friends. Good luck - tons of fun & warm. We just celebrated a small friends' party at My Little Gym in Plano off Preston in Lakeside Market.

When my son turned two or three I had a Noah's Ark party for him. I got a Grandfather clock box and a Grandmother clock box and built an ark! They could actually play in it and it was very sturdy! (Ask for details)
Everyone brought their favorite stuffed animal. We made a craft of animal masks. Iread a kiddy version of the story. We ate a homemade rainbow cake and had punch. I had blue balloons all over the floor.

Clean-up was a breeze! "It's going to flood! Get all the animals on the ark!" He had a BLAST! Our homemade "gym" (ark) lasted a while and was so much fun!

Have fun! Keep it simple! You can do it yourself!

I have B/G twins and still do their parties together, just neutral. I'd be OK if they each wanted their own theme/cake, though.
