B-day Party for Boy and Girl

There is a really fun game with balloons that would be fun.
Get some balloons. Put something on a piece of paper inside each and them blow them up...no helium. Then the game is every kid grab a balloon and sit, punch, poke anything to pop it. The kids get the prize inside the balloon. Fun and funny to watch. Have the parents do it too (for no prize) just for enjoyment. Or you can make a first, second, third prize for who pops it first...or you can put something in a few of them only. Or be creative and on how you want to award the prizes.

I'm sorry,you haven't recieved any responses as yet on birthday ideas. I have to guess, that its a little difficult for some mothers,to dream up ideas,when coming up with new ideas for themselves is a bit thought provoking. I understand your reasoning behind having both birthdays together. Its hard to get friends or family to give up two weekends in a row for birthday celebrations.I must say,that while the children don'T seem to mind now,it won't be to much longer, before they are disatisfied with sharing their (special day) Especially when the siblings are of the oposite gender.She'll want a princess theme, and he'll want a super hero! Lets face it, what makes ones birthday something to look forward to, is being treated special that day. Your the center of attention. I know, there will be some mothers, that will say it doesn't matter.I wonder if they ever considered sharing their wedding day with A sister? uh huh. If its the end of Nov. it probably will be a bit cool.Be prepared in case you have to move inside. Your son has a couple years on your daughter, so i'd try to be as creative as i could. Wish I could dream up some great games right now.Maybe dad could play Dj and have a dance contest? Or build your own sundae? How about make-up artist? pair them off and give a prize to the best make-up job.Give them props,like hats and scarfs. to work with.Take a picture of them before they take it off.: ) Its been a while since I had a party,but i'm sure a few of the moms here will come up with some great ideas. Pinatas are great for all ages & you could even do one for each if you wanted to seperate them a bit. We had my daughters b-day party at the park for a couple of years just because it had built in fun/ entertainment with the swings, slides, etc. You could even pull out some of the old "retro" games like Twister or an egg toss, which is always fun. (You can provide garbage bags with holes cut out for the arms & head if you are concerned with them getting egg all over themselves) Like the other person said also, bounce houses are a pretty good bang for your buck b/c they tire them out & you can sit back & drink a soda:)
