My home right now is in a state of streessful of changes. The dog has thrown in its two cents in protest of the changes to added to the stress. It has peed all over my bed. Unfortunatly, tossing the mattress is not an option, or it would have already been gone before the dog got to it. There is no money to be had of any sort. How do I get my bed clean and as fast as possible?

I am so sorry you are going through so much! I am a good listener if you want to vent. I am aslo non-judgemental. OK, the dog pee issue: there is a product at Target with the carpet cleaners called FOLEX. It is around $5. This my friend is a miracle pet pee stain, smell remover!! I have used it many times myself. Try it, then I would turn the mattress over after it dries. (personal preference, not necessary)
hugs for the stress,
T.

Steam cleaning, and if possible using Nature's Miracle or other enzymatic cleaner followed by air dryng and using Odorzou granules should work. As for the NM, you cannot use too much so suck out as much pee as possible, folowed by soaking the matress with it. Then, soak up, re apply and then air dry.

ps- could the dog have a urinary tract infection?

My dog did this when she got older and I believe just couldn't hold it anymore. I felt so sorry for her. After I tried to clean it up, I bought a waterproof liner/pad to go over it to try to keep the smell from being so prevelant and kind of trapping it underneath.
Remember, dogs are just as human as we are and will show their stress and anxiety in ways that small children will because they have no voice.

The best thing to do it to have a professional clean it. It's cheaper than buying a new one and if you use someone with a truckmount system, that knows what they are doing, the mattress won't have the bacteria left behind that causes smells and germs to grow. Then I would keep a waterproof mattress cover on it because he'll do it again. I just got a new dog that was given to me by some people that did not have time for him, and he has taken to do the same thing on my guest bed. Luckily we had a waterproof mattress cover on it. My company does cleans mattresses but we book out so far in advance, that we could not get to you quick. If you want to email me, I can refer you to someone I trust.

Just a suggestion, maybe once you use the products, set it outside for a few hours to dry, and get some good old fashioned air into it! Sorry to hear about the incident, and the stress...good luck with everything ~A.~
