Hi Mamas,
I just came across a HUGE box of expired potato flakes, and would hate for them to go completely to waste. Anyone know of a way to use them as an art project that a 3 yr old could do? Right now he's putting them, lentils, beans, and pasta into glue on a paper to make flowers, but I don't know what else we could do.

Maybe you could mix them with a little bit of water to make paste...use that instead of glue?? It would probably work! You could also use some food coloring and try dying them different colors...they might work as paint or something or at least he can glue the different color flakes to paper and make something different.
I don't have a specific idea, exactly, but just so you know potato flakes are what they use to make it "snow" in movies. Maybe a diorama that you snow on for fun?

Are you sure they're expired?? You might try making up a batch to eat, just to see. Many expiration dates are arbitrary. My husband works in food packaging, and brings home lots of "expired" stuff!
