My son is alost 9 months and I was wondering if anyone has given their kids the Go and Grow Formula by SImilac? Is it thicker? Is it better for them at that age than regular Similac? My son has always been a good eater. He has been on Rice with veggies since 2 months old. (his dad was the same way at 2 weeks he was given rice) His bottles lately have been between 8 oz and 12 oz. Even after he eats dinner he still wants a big bottle. He used to only drink 6 oz. so If anyone has an opinion or you recommend it please help. Thank you so much.

I transitioned my son to go & grow at 9 months because it was cheaper! It was the same consistency and additional nutrients for his age. He used it until 11 months old when he decided he wanted nothing to do with formula or bottles, so we switched to a sippy cup of whole milk then. My doctor said that the formula companies would love for you to keep your baby on formula for as long as possible, but it's not necessary after their birthday.

Yes. We switched from the regular Similac in the blue can to the Go and Grow. It's really not different in color or texture at all. My husband compared labels and there's more of something good (I can't remember) in the Go and Grow. For another thing, it's cheaper! My daughter transitioned without even knowing.

I have given my daughter who is now 23 months Go & Grow formula. It is the same consistancy was the Silimac for infants. She seems to progress fine on the formula. She has been on the Go & Grow formula since she was 12 months. She did not notice the difference since the taste and the color and consistancy was the same.

I skipped it and went to whole milk at 12 months. I also tied it with bottle weaning. Only formula went in bottles. As I began to slowly replace formula with milk, I put the milk in sippy cups.

Good luck!
