Appreciation Gift for My Son Leaving Daycare Facility After 5+ Years

My son is going to be leaving his daycare/preschool facility the end of this summer to begin kindergarten. He has been attending this facility since he was 3 months old, 2-3 days per week so we have built great relationships with the teachers and staff there.
I would like to do something to show my appreciation for all they've done for him. These teachers are awesome and have watched my son grow into this amazing little guy who is ready to venture out to kindergarten. I want them to know that part of his success is the time he has spent with them and all they've done for him. I can't spend a ton of money (i still have two younger kids in the daycare facility) and there are approximately 15 teachers total and about 12 who have really been there from the start. Any ideas? I'm somewhat creative, and I have time to do projects so I'm open to those kinds of suggestions as well as others. THANKS!

What can I do next?

Just had this come up TODAY! My daughter has one main teacher - but has contact with tons of staff throughout her day (hall monitors, lunch room people, administrators, secretaries, etc.). So I baked a bunch of outrageous cupcakes and left them in the staff break room with a note that said: For all of you who have loved and cared for my Sara throughout the year, my heartfelt thanks. I was stopped in the hall by people I didn't even know and given compliments. They were a huge hit and greatly appreciated.

Can you afford a nice catered lunch brought in for them? Find a local caterer/deli and have a nice selection of salads & sandwiches delivered. Or if that's too pricey - then do it yourself. Make a gorgeous green salad, a macaroni or potato salad and a pile of sandwiches on a tray. Be sure to supply paper plates, plastic flatware, drinks & cups and homemade cookies for desert. Use good ingredients - a few grilled chicken sandwiches, a couple of tuna salad, turkey, ham & swiss. Maybe even some deviled eggs as garnish. They're know it was from the heart and you can involve your 5 yr old in the process.

Have fun!

I think having lunch catered would be wonderful. Panera does a fabulous job.

Good luck!

How about catering a nice lunch/brunch for all of the faculty/staff including dessert? If there is a library or music room, donate some great CD's or books.

No specific suggestions, but perhaps something for the school that the teachers would really appreciate, rather than individual gifts. Since you are crafty, perhaps you can make a brand new sign or bulletin board for the school, or something to put on the doors, etc. You know best, of course, what the facility might need, or what might pretty up the place. Even something like pretty tissue box holders for each classroom would be nice, and very much appreciated. And your younger kids would get a kick out of seeing them at their school, knowing that you made them : )

I am in the same situation with my twin daughters. I am planning to design a special card at Tiny Prints or some other online place like that, with a photo of my girls on their first day at the day care as babies, then another photo from when they were in the toddler room, the 3s, and then one from their "graduation" day from pre-K. This will go to every teacher they have had at the school, along with a note about how important that person was to our family. Probably the girls and I will bake some cookies for their last day this summer, and deliver the cards with the cookies.

Let us know what you decide to do!

What about one of those really nice edible arrangements. They look nice, taste great and is something they could pick on all day.

I'm not sure how much help this will be, but here goes. LOL As a fellow home provider, ANYTHING that you do will be appreciated. It really is nice just to know that someone went out of their way to say thank you.

I am in a very similar situation and with 8.5 days left of school I am in panic mode as to what to do.

Thought about send a plant to the school? Something that would last...like the impression they have my on our family and child.

I was thinking along the same lines but how about brekfast? Do a coffe box from Dunkin Doughnuts, starbucks, or Panera, and an assortment of muffins, bagels, sweets, etc-- a little cheaper than lunch and I feel like people are less picky about what they like for brekfast for. Also, maybe a some flowers. As a teacher, I know I would love this!

I worked ia a center for many years and received many different gifts from a bouquet of roses to gift certificates. Some parents even got together and catered a very nice lunch for us. That is maybe something for you to think about!

Why not pick up a lunch tray for all from Subway or Chik Fil A?
And, of course, a nice handwritten thank you expressing your thanks and acknowledging that they made a very real difference in your son's life!
