Try Once Upon a Child for a hand me down Baby Bjorn. I was there a few weeks ago and they had ones in great condition for $15-$25. The Baby Bjorn is the best.
I'm wondering if any of you mamas know of a good alternative to the baby bjorn? I'm purchasing a sling but I would also like a carrier my husband can use, I don't want to spend $80 on the bjorn if there is a less expensive just as good carrier. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks so much!
Thank you all so much for your responses. I'm going to check out the snugli....we just got a gift card for Target, yay!!

i have several other brands that were hand me downs and none of them are stable and sturdy like the bjorn. spend the money. i have the snugli and it isn't sturdy. when the baby was really little i couldn't put her in it until she had head control
My husband has a Snugli. I believe it was only around $20. We had it on our register at Babies R Us, but I do not believe they carry it any longer. I did a quick search for it on google, and found this website: http://www.nextag.com/baby-carrier-snugli/search-html
The one we have is the navy blue one that is currently $13.29.
My husband is 6ft 4in and he is comfortable using it.
If you like the idea of the Baby Bjorn (my husband loved it for our 2 kids), but don't want to pay full price, consider going to a resale shop like Kid to Kid or Once Upon a Child. I've seen ones in good condition there for 1/2 price or less. I highly recommend the updated Bjorn with lumbar support over the original one. R.
I have a baby bjorn in navy and a walking rock farm hip carrier (www.walkingrockfarm.com) that is blue.
My youngest just turned 3, so we don't use them anymore. You can have either one, free. Let me know and you can pick it up when it's convenient. I'm in Gilbert, south of Williams Field, east of Gilbert Rd.
I have a sling and a Baby Bjorn. My husband and I both have used the sling for our daughter who is now 5 months. I have a Hot Sling from Target ($40-$50). My husband was able to use it when she was first born in the cradle hold and now he can use it with her sitting up in it just fine.
I also suggest a Sunggli. My sister gave me her old one (which had been used on her 3 kids), which was bought in 2000. I am still using it on my second child, and other than getting dirty, it has held up wonderfully!!
I agree with Linda, I bought a snugli and loved ours I used it for my two children and it held up and still looked new when I sold it. I have bought these for friends and they loved it as well. Good luck Target also sells these. D.
A Snugli works great and is pretty inexpensive... we got ours at WalMart. Ours has held all 3 of our children and still looks great!
Playtex hip hammock worked very well for me. It is not expensive at all say about 30-40 dollars. If you are in the Gilbert area then you can buy mine. My child had outgrown it by the time we got him home.
You can have it for 20 dollars.
Thanks.

I love my bjorn. I paid $30 on craigslist. If you don't mind a used one - it is the way to go.
becco carrier and babyhawk, might be more money. check baby wearing sites.
Our baby is not here yet but my husband picked out the Chicco You and Me. It was almost $100 at Babies R Us but I got one brand new on Ebay for $45.00.
