It could be scar tissue healing. Or maybe a bladder infection. Or pelvic issues. Just suggestions to consider
Hi,
I recently developed some abdominal discomfort and am urinating more frequently 6 months post C-Section. This just started almost 2 weeks ago. I know it's not an UTI - I've had them many times before and know my body well enough to know that it's not that. I'm just curious if this is part of the healing process. I feel pressure in my left abdominal area and I just feel bloated. I'm planning on making an appointment with my OB/GYN next week but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced something similar to this.

i think its pretty normal to have a weaker bladder after having a kid especially if you're over 40. i have 2 kids and pee all the time!! lol. i would still see a doctor, maybe it is a uti and the symptoms are different. ive had them with pretty much no pain, just major urgency to go. maybe the bloating is from that...
My OB told me after having my first child, that my bladder would be weak. He told me to do some exercises to strengthen my bladder. I don't remember the name of them now, but your doctor can tell you about them too. These exercises have lots of good effects. Better bladder, better sex, and (I can't tell, but my mom beleives it) a slightly flatter diaphragm area.
I just went through this last week, but my daughter is 15 months old. I thought I might have had a bladder infection because I was needing to use the restroom more frequently and had pain just above my pubic bone (right under my incision from the C-section). Went to quick care and my pee came back clear, no infection, no pregnancy.
The dr said it could be my period coming back since I am down to nursing my daughter just once a day. However, I'm not sure if that's the case because it doesn't feel menstrual. I have an appt Tues with my OB/GYN. Quick care just told me to take ibuprofen. Since then the pain has gone away, but I'm curious to ask my OB/GYN to see what she thinks.
Hi MJ,
Is it possible that you have developed a fibroid? I had those same symptoms (though not post C-section) until I had a fibroid discovered and removed from my uterus. I have heard that the hormones of pregnancy can make them accelerate their growth. I would ask your OB.
Good luck,
S.
My daughter in law had a lot of difficulties caused by scar tissue after her C-section. I am a massage therapist and worked on her scar tissue and she has done much better since then.
Hi MJ,
I had a c-section as well but no post operatory issues and it's been over one year. There are a lot of reasons you might feel bloated (including a diet high in sodium and processed foods) and in pain. I had bad cramps after I stopped breastfeeding and I got my period. Your body might be going thru some hormonal changes causing the pain, it might not be related to your surgery. Good luck in finding out and please keep up posted after you talk to the doctor.
If it's only starting now, it probably isn't related to the c-section. However, it could be a number of things. I would say go see a doctor if it isn't better in a few days - before it gets worst. Good luck :)
