I posted a question about this forever ago and got great answers; you might want to check it out.
Most people say their only regret is that they wish they had done it sooner!
Good luck :) I'll be getting one, eventually!!
I'm going to a second consult today for one. It's a little scary, but I know I'll feel a million % better after I have it.
Just curious about the real life "downtime and impact" in the weeks after it. The first doc I met with said that I couldn't lift the baby for 3 weeks - which would be tough. I'm wondering if that's a real number, or a recommendation?
Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Please send me a note on who you recommend???? My Mom had one but not in this area and she looks amazing. I've had 3 C sections and want one badly. Who are you seeing? Please let me know. 3 weeks is about right. My Mom said a tummy tuck was no worse than a C-section
No, but I sure plan on it after we are done having kids.
I have already had 2 C-Sections and we plan to have 2 more kids for a total of 4 C-Sections.
Can you say saggy?
My neighbor had one and yes, she could not lift her toddler for at least 3 weeks and when she did, she had extreme discomfort and something did not feel right for a long time.
This is major abdominal surgery. This is not liposuction. You will be in excruciating pain for a good week. Followed by unbearable to bearable pain for another 2 weeks. You will need 24/7 care for a good week after this surgery.
How old are your children? I would recommend you stay with someone else for a week so the kids aren't tempted to run and jump on you, or have family stay with you, or husband takes a week off...
Please follow your surgeons advice. Not ours though.
I haven't had one. but my friend had one and while she said the recovery wasn't too bad (I remember it being 2 or 3 weeks) the doctors are right - you don't want to be picking up your baby...probably only b/c of the fact you won't be able to. You just don't want to tear anything. From what she told me, when they cut into your abs area, it affects all your muscles from your shoulders, arms and sides.
If you have a little baby, unless you have someone full time to help you, I would wait maybe until she is older.
Yes - I too would like to know who you are seeing.
I don't have any words of wisdom or expertise but I do want to say GOOD FOR YOU and congratulations! I know some people look down upon cosmetic procedures but meh, whatever. Go for it mama!
