Any TaeBo DVD's are good. I have the Fat Blasting Cardio workout and it is definitely hard. It might take a few times to make it through the whole thing but it does work. Best Buy has a lot of them.
Hello...
I am looking for a really good and up-beat (preferably with good background music) workout DVD. I have some pilates DVD's as well as a DVD which does a lot of squats, plies, lunges, arm work with resistance bands, etc. but I want a good cardio DVD...along the lines of a hip-hop class/routine. Any suggestions? I have heard Yoga Booty Ballet is pretty good?? I stay home two days a week with my two sons. My oldest will be three in October and my youngest is almost 17 months...and I am finding that being so busy with them during the day, then dad comes home and we all do something together, then it is time for bath and bed...and it doesn't give me much time to go to the gym and they just aren't really good at the sitter service there...maybe in a year it will be different, but until then, I think my answer is going to be doing at home DVD's during nap or after they are asleep. If anyone else has any other ideas, I would love to hear them. Let me know of some good work-outs mammas!
Thanks!

I really love Billy Blanks Tae Bo - It goes by extremely quickly and it is very upbeat. I saw pretty good results as well. I would suggest no matter what you choose, try using ebay or amazon for a better price!!
I swear by Denise Austin. All of her work-outs are fantastic. She is an exercise physiologist, so you know she knows what she's talking about - she's not just one of those supermodels telling you to do what she does.
She has a number of different options, so there is truly something for everyone. My favorites are "Blast Away 10 Lbs" and "Fat Burning Blast". Each of these has 2 complete work-outs on them so you never get bored. She also offers yoga, pilates, toning, kickboxing - you name it, she's got it.
She has a website where you can purchase her DVD's - I would google her name and get to the site - you won't be disappointed! In 21 days, you'll be seeing awesome results! : )
Hi - I have been working out for more than a yr and lost approx 15 pounds all thanks to Turbo Jam. She has several TJ videos, but the one u start with is the one that comes with 5 workouts in one. It's a combo of kickboxing, cardio, and tons of fun with house/hiphop music in the background. Chalene is not annoying or fake like a lot of instructors are. You can check Turbo Jam or any other videos out at www.youtube.com and type in Turbo Jam.
I've also done The Firm, and while it is very effective, it is BORING and dry. One should be able to look forward to working out, but the Firm is so dry that I dreaded doing it.
Yoga Booty Ballet (again u can see this on youtube) is okay, a bit low-key and lower intensity if that is what you are looking for. I'm the type that has to have FUN when I work out and this wasn't a fun one really.
Hip Hop Abs are also good but Turbo Jam also does many moves similar to hip Hop abs and is much more overall a thorough workout. U can check out turbo jam reviews on amazon and get the dvd's pretty cheap as well.
Good luck!
I rented exercise DVD's from the library to check them out first and if I liked them I'd buy them used at Amazon.
I would try to find a good work out on cable. It will keep it fresh and force you to take the time-or miss it!
Jillian Micheals 30 Day shred. It is great. Comes with 3 levels. It is an interval workout, so everything gets hit. I am a fitness instructor and have incorporated this type of workout in my classes and my students love it and have seen results fast!!! Good Luck.
I second the Firm.....great workout!
Good luck!
I second Turbo Jam, I'm too lazy to do it but it is awesome.

Leslie Sansone has a good workout. It's called Walk away the pounds. I used the vhs a lot before I had my kids and thanks to your post I think I will try to find them and start using them again.

Some are different than others. What if you borrow some from the library and see which one you like before you buy one.

Great name-my oldest daughter is the same and spelling too...
I have a wonderful group of friends that came out with 4 different dvd to workout to which incorporates yoga, cardio, pilates and dance. It is great!!
Go to www.xflowsion.com and see and listen to Eric. It has been featured in some major magazine publications. They started out as a little yoga studio in West Bloomfield, MI.

I love Kathy Smith dvd's. She has a great kickboxing workout and pilates(it's two dvd's - one for lower body and one for abs). Also, love the Firm's cardio fusion dance, since it has three short workouts (which is all I have time for lately) or one longer workout for those are truly motivated! Good luck!
B....I know exectly how you feel. I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 year old, and you can never seem to find time to go to the bathroom by yourself much less find time to go to the gym. I purchased the FIRM workout package and I LOVE IT. They offer everything that you are asking for in one package. I belive you can buy it at Walmart or Target, but if they are out you can go on line to firm.com and you can order everything there. I have been using it for a while now, and really enjoy the workouts, and I'm seeing results, which makes it encouraging to work out more. I hope that if you decide to try it you love it just as much as I do.
Good luck...M.
I love Leslie Sansone's "3 mile walk" (green cover) -- she is upbeat and inspiring without being annoying. You use light hand weights which give you a great workout -- you'll be surprised at how powerful this workout is if you do it 2 times a week or more... I don't like her other tapes as much -- so try this one.
Yoga Booty Ballet is AMAZING! They add a spiritual, personal enrichment component to the workout that elevates it from just a work out. It's very grounding and centering. You finish not only with a sweaty sense of personal accomplishment but a nice healthy dose of "me time" rather than the chore of working out.
Plus the instructors are fun, engaging, silly at times, non judgmental. I can't recommend them highly enough.
I have a friend who committed herself to the entire program and lost 85 pounds and truly transformed her life. (She teaches now in Seattle) I don't have those kinds of needs but when I have 40 minutes and want a great work out with a HUGE stress relief/refocusing - there's nowhere else to turn than YBB!
Good luck!
