My good friend had triplets (all boys) just like you a little over 3 years ago. They were supposed to only be able to have children with a petri-dish involved, however, just after the boys 1st birthday she found out she was pregnant with baby #4. He was born when the boys were about 18 months old. She is the most organized person in the world. She breastfed all 4 boys and made their babyfoood. From what I have noticed she color-coded everything for them-ie, one is blue, one is red, one is yellow and one is green. Their clothes were always matching, which I think makes everything a little easier. I could ask her if I could pass you her e-mail address...although she doesn't get a whole lot of time on the internet. She is really "The Master" if you know what I mean.

I'm sure you have a local Moms of Triplets support group. Or Mothers of Multiples group. Maybe your doctor's office can refer you.

Congrats.

Congratulations!! :) I don't have multiples (well technically I did my daughters twin died during gestation), However, my son and daughter were almost as close together as they could be just a little more than a year apart. First off, you definately want to start coupon clipping now and start stocking up on the baby supplies, and you can also go to your local church for support (plenty of helpful older women who would just love to babysit or help out i'm sure). And you need to get not just your husband but your whole family involved, If you don't have anyfamily in the area then ask your friends to pitch in when they can. A good support work is necessary for every new mom, and more so for a mom of multiples. As for setting a schedule...really the only thing you can do right now is set who gets the night shift and who gets the day shift, when the boys are born THEY will set the schedule ...lol. It's true, baby's like things their way. You can also save money by joining some groups that get discounts on baby supplies and furniture. One thing you may want to look into is getting on the sears kids dept. club. My mom is a member and when she buys something for the kids, if within 30 days they grow out of it , or it falls apart in the washer sears replaces it for free.
Not sure how close you are to Jacksonville Fl. but I know the salvation army near the beech st. flea market has furniture 30% off every wed. and clothes 50% every wed. That might help save some money too.Just an example, my husband found me a business suit worth over $200 for $1.50 :O and it was brand new with the original store tags attached. So good luck and keep us all posted.

Hi D. and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I don't have triplets but I do have twins (naturally too)! The best advice I can give is to do everything at the same time (if you can, with the extra one and only 2 hands... I dont' know how well that will work =p). I changed diapers and fed them at the same time and until they were about 2-3 months I kept a night log of who was eating and how much so I knew they were getting enough to eat at night feedings.
I think once you have the babies if your husband is at all like mine he will just fall into the daddy role. As soon as I had my boys he changed all the diapers the first night. He has been an amazing father. It hard for them to be 100% into it at first because they don't understand what it's like to be pregnant, but just keep him involved with the things you guys need to purchase and do.
Congrats again and it will be easier than you think because they are the only ones you have and you won't know any different. People ask me all the time if it's hard and that's what I tell them.
Hope this helps C.

Congrats!! I am as some of the other mothers that responded ,Not a mother of multiples ,but I can tell you as a mom with 4 children and one on the way that color coding and preparing early to do something is always key.
I have 2 boys and 2 girls and the one on the way is a boy. All my boys wear the same outfits just different colors as do my girls. It makes it easy to do laundry because you know exactly what you are supposed to have in each load. It makes it easier when you go out and they are all mobile. Because you can search a crowd quick if one gets away from you. I also have a color coded place setting for the dinner table for each of my kids So I know who's is who's. And as the kids get older they can help set their place at the table because they know what setting is theirs.
So all I can tell you as a mother of children ages 6,5,4,and 2 with newborn on the way in may....Is color code and if you want to go out to a zoo or the park or something just start preparing early and always give yourself extra time...
Hope I helped in some way.
K.

D., I'm a mother of almost 8 year old twin boys. You need to check out the website www.tbamoms.com. They are local, Tampa Bay Area Mothers of Multiples. You will find moms of Twins, Triplets, Quads and probably more. They meet monthly off of Hutchinson and Ehrlich. They are a wonderful support group when you need support and ideas from moms that have experienced what lies ahead. They have an online yahoo group where you can post questions, kind of like this. I'm not a member anymore, but it was great support when my twins were young. I nursed both of the boys until 7 months, so I really couldn't have much help from my husband in the early months. But I do have to say at least with twins that the first 3 months were the hardest. Then they started to get more into a routine all on their own and then it started to get easier and the fun begins. Let me know if you need anything else. R.

Hi D.,

I do not have multiples of my own, but I definitely recommend the Tampa Bay Area Mothers of Multiples group mentioned above. I have several friends that are involved and they have found the group to be a great resource. Through my home-based business, I have participated in an event that they have each year and I always get such a great vibe from the group. I've met many wonderful moms and have always been impressed with how well the moms run the group and the great resources they provide.

Good luck with your triplets :-)

Hi, I have triplets who are now 3 1/2 2 girls and 1 boy...mine was fertility..Anyway...As far as organized...My biggest asset was a bottle called a podee(www.itsybitsybabies.com) you must get it....I do not know how far along you are but I only went 30w and 1 day...thank god all 3 are healthy.....As far a organizing...I personally had 3 of everything...If you are lucky enough to have help...I did not...I used 3 of the aquarium swings and gave them each a podee and sat on the floor and feed them in a row...My husband was great with helping me when he was home but night was a little rough...he had to wake up for work at 5am so we would break up feedings but anything after 2am was mine...he would feed them before he left for work...I was basically alone for 10 hours a day...the podee was a great help...Of course I used doctor browns bottles for a regular feeding but you only have 2 hands so...if others are crying...they can drink themselves...just no ceral in the podee...Organizing is not so easy...if you have ample time....then you just set things up in advance...have atleast 6 bottles made at all times...never assume they will all be on the same schuedule...If people tell you it will be easy..they are lying but it is worth it..If you ever need to talk...I will aways respond...good luck
