My sister and her husband have a two-month-old daughter. I have a main gift for the holidays for them, but I'm trying to get something small as well. I was hoping to get something that would be a "helper" for new parents (maybe fun?), but I'm having a really hard time thinking of something since they live states away from any family and don't want to leave the baby with a sitter yet. My Blockbuster.com membership really helps with my little one. My hubby and I get to see so many movies and have our date nights at home after the baby goes to bed. Maybe you could look into getting a month or so trial for a Blockbuster.com membership, or even a gift card to a rental place near where they live?
Gift card for house cleaning is definitely a great idea. However, get a service that offers all-natural cleaning. Synthetic chemicals should never be used around infants and breastfeeding mothers (or any other human beings for that matter).
If you are looking to give something a little less exensive, you could try writing down cute things the baby has done and keeping a timeline for mom and dad. It is so hard to remember everything that happens when you are so sleep deprived during those early months. That would be treasured for a long time!
Well since they can't really go to the movies for a while, you could get them a 3 month subscription to Netflixs. I believe it's 35.00 (they have a lot of different packages that would meet your finacial needs). You can send the certificate via e-mail so have that handy when you do it. Then you can send them a care package to go along with it. Specialty popcorn, movie size candy boxes, or hot chocolate with marshmallows, with fun coffe mugs.

Do they live where you could get groceries delivered? Or restaurnts that have "real meal" delivery? If so you could get gift certificates and they could have them available for days when they don't or can't get out. You could also do a box filled with all the items we seems to forget at the store (trash bags, tissues, toliet paper, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, etc.) Just make it fun with a note or something so they know it is a "helper" gift. Have fun with it! I'm sure they will love that you are beinging so thoughtful!

I like the idea of getting some food delivered...That's a great idea, as it frees up time, giving them a chance to relax a little and enjoy each other.
Food! Frozen dinners, prepared by you or a Dinner by Design type place. We always appreciated food...or help cleaning the house & running errands.
Give her a gift card to Merry Maids (if they have those where she lives) for a one-time house cleaning.
