I am looking to cut our grocery bill down, with that said we really do like to eat healthy to an extent as much as we can afford. It's sad how healthy food is so expensive, luckily organic is pretty comparable at a local supermarket here :)
Wondering if any of you have an experience or advice on websites or any input at all. I am not one of those people that want to be an extreme couponer for those who have seen that show :) But I do want to be dilligent and how I can save money. I am open to thoughts and suggestions for ways that have helped you and your family.

On a side note---is there a way to bump a topic back to the top page or do you have to repost if you want more responses at a different time of day so others see it!

Thanks for reading and giving all and any input!!!

I use coupons.com and go to my grocery store's website and add coupons directly to my savings card. Also, go to companies specific websites and like them on facebook for more coupons. I do this mostly for dog food and cleaning supplies. Go into the store with a list and a plan and that will cut down on inpulse buys. Costco and Sam's club are great for some items, but if you use coupons and combine with a sale you can get certain items cheaper than the bulk items. Also, when you have an impulse buy at a bulk store you spend more money than an impulse buy at a grocery store. I spend maybe 20 minutes a day checking websites, printing coupons and cutting them out. For me it's worth it. I save around 30% on my grocery bill each trip. I buy fresh produce and meat, and that is always the biggest expense. Also, check your grocery store to see if they double or triple coupons and try to buy generic where you can. I'll always try the generic at least once and if it's not good, I'll go back to name brand. I also read an article in Parents magazine that said that when it comes to buying organic foods, it only really matters in the stuff you eat a lot of.

Try the websites couponmom.com or J. Cataldo's supercouponing.com. Each week you can see all of the good deals at all local stores. They tell you how to match up coupons with sales to get the best price. I recently started stocking up on non-perishable items when I can get a good deal (not to the extent of extreme couponers... lol... I just buy what I actually need and will use). At Walgreens and CVS you can earn Register Rewards that you use toward your next purchase. So, for example, I bought toothpaste, shampoo, etc. that was on sale and I had coupons for, and received register rewards. Then the next week, I used the rewards for my next round of "deals". I ended up paying next to nothing for the items. I've learned that you have to buy those products when there's a deal, not wait until you need them.

As for fresh food, I have found that our local produce store (Valli) has the best prices on meat and produce. For cereal, yogurt, etc. you can watch Jewel for sales and coupon match-ups (they also give register rewards, or catalinas). It takes a little while to learn, but I have saved a lot of money shopping this way! Good luck!

I am not a couponer, to me... time = money and I can be more resourceful with my time.

I am a great shopper. I shop Costco, my local butcher with top quality meats, local grocer market Street (not cheap but quality) and Target. I boycott Walmart... will not ever set foot in one of those stores.

I read the latest ads for Target and when they have a deal, I stock up. For instance... not too long ago, Campbells cream of chicken soup was .50/can. I bought at least a dozen cans of cream of chicken and cream of mushroom. I keep about a 6 month stock of food in the freezer and in my pantry. I am fortunate to have a pantry the size of a HUGE walk in closet.. it looks like a grocery store in there!

When I see something at a good price, I stock up. I don't drive all over town shopping each weekly ad. That waste gas, wear and tear on car and time.

I do have grocery IQ on my IPhone and I keep a running list on it so I always have my list with me.

Good luck.
