I am looking for a Christmas gift for my MIL and FIL. They like to go dancing, have taken lessons, and go to lots of socials with other couples. Idea for gifts? I can't afford lessons nor do I think they would want them. I need inspiration.
Is there a restaurant in town that has dancing as well? You could get a gift certificate for dinner. Or, if paying for a full dinner would be too much, give a smaller $ amount with a note saying this is for "Wine and Waltzing" or "Debonaire Dessert."
You can look for ballroom events where they live (google it). There may be a venue with live music, which is really fun to dance to and get them tickets to that. Also, if they like to dress up, there are stores that specialize in ballroom attire. In particular, a good pair or ballroom shoes and a carrying case for them, is great to have, if they don't already have, or need a new pair. You're a very thoughtful DIL! :)
Oooo! Me! I use to do some ballroom. I also teach Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater, Voice lessons, and much more!
As for them not wanting lessons or you not being able to afford them, maybe they could go to a ballroom dance competition?! Or even go to a theater play. I'm not too sure even with my background with this. I'd say classes. Maybe you could arrange something at your house or their house. Invite all their friends and have a nice dinner party, put on some music and have everyone dance ballroom style. IDK. Just an idea. :)

Where do they go dancing? We attend dance parties at the same studio where we take our lessons. A party costs $30/couple. If they have to pay where they like to go dancing, maybe you could get a gift certificate for a party. Nice thought!
