Son (15) experiencing very dry facial skin at the moment, mainly around cheekbone area. He's tried using some acne cream he used to use a few years ago to try and help, without any result. Just wondering what would be recommended for something like this, maybe something like E45 cream? Never really experienced anything like this before with three. Appreciate any advice, thanks.

At age 15, I would take him to a dermatologist so he can diagnose and treat this issue correctly.

If you try this and that OTC products and he still has a skin problem then do the right thing and get him properly diagnosed.

I know it costs a co-pay and maybe an RX or maybe not. A Dr can give you the best advice for someone this age.

Acne cream is the exact opposite of what he should be using. If there is no irritation or redness or infection, and if it's simply dry skin, coconut oil is a good moisturizer. Use virgin, organic, expeller-pressed, good quality coconut oil. It has healing properties. Of course, if it seems like more than dry skin, if it seems extreme, or if it doesn't respond to a good oil or moisturizer, perhaps a doctor's appointment would be necessary.

acne cream is drying. it combats oils. it's the last thing you should be using to address a dry skin problem.
there are a variety of things you could try that address dry skin, such as tea tree oil, vitamin E, and a gazillion over the counter moisturizers.
or you could do the smartest thing and take him to a dermatologist.

I like using natural things, or Dead Sea face scrubs or creams. Natural things to moisturizer his face can include yogurt, honey, egg and avocado masks, and more. Simply look it up online. Now, I'm from Israel, and trust me, anything to do with the Dead Sea will leave anyone's skin feeling amazingly soft and smooth. You can get tons of masks and creams on Amazon, just make sure they have good reviews

Hi K.,

Renew lotion has been double blind tested against Eucerin and has shown 7 times the moisture retention even after two weeks of discontinuing use. It's great for someone (teenager..or my husband, lol) who is not as consistent as most creams or lotions recommend. It also heals acne and Ezcema as well as other skin issues. I've used it for years!
