Anxiety Issue

I'm having general anxiety, especially health related anxiety.
Hopefully I don't have any panic attacks, but I do have some symptoms that I think are related to anxiety: dizziness, brain zaps, ringing in the ears. The more I panic, the worse the symptoms get.
Lately I developped a fear that i might have some mental desease.
I don't know how to fight these worries. It isn't possible that someone looses his/her mind all of the sudden, right?

What can I do next?

Have you seen a doctor? If you have, go back and have your meds adjusted. If you haven't, a doctor can really help with your anxiety. It's a common problem that can be dealt with.

In general, if you think you have a mental disease, then you don't. Anxiety is like a physical ache or pain. You need to find out what's causing it.

You are describing generalized anxiety exactly... these symptoms are exactly what happens when you're having anxiety. The fear of mental illness, all that. It's normal stuff. Take your meds to help you keep and even keel going on and you'll feel better over all. Once you've worked through what's causing the anxiety issues you'll be able to go slowly off the meds.

I've been med free for years and years.

I do carry a small bottle of anti-anxiety meds in my purse all the time though. The doc says it's my lucky rabbits foot. If I have the meds just in case...then I won't ever need them because I know they're there just in case.

Have your thyroid checked. Thyroid issues can cause anxiety.

Exercise is very important and helpful to reduce anxiety.

You won't lose your mind, don't worry about that. When my kids were little, I went through a couple of bouts of panic attacks and hypochondria. When life gets overwhelming, anxiety can be the result.
