The Children's Farm in Palos Park would be great. It has a petting zoo and free pony rides. They also host birthday parties.
My little girl is turning 2 in August, and I'm starting to think of what we can do for her birthday. Unfortunately we only know like 2 or three other kids to invite, so it wont' be a big party. My daughter LOVES animals, and goes nuts when she sees chickens, dogs, etc. Do you have any suggestions how i can incorporate animals on her big day?

Lambs Farm could be a good option. I considered having a dog trainer that does tricks for my son's first but didn't do it. The woman was really nice though.

Good luck. I love planning parties. Have fun!!
We did a barnyard theme for her birthday. We invited mostly adults and she loved it. I ordered some stuff from birthday express, you could also look on Oriental Trading Company. Hope that helps
Smaller parties are much better for that age, so only a couple kids would actually be perfect. You could do a birthday picnic at the zoo, since August would be perfect weather for it and only a few kids would be ideal for that type of outing!
I agree with another response. Cosley Animal Farm in Wheaton is fantastic. There are picnic tables where you could set up a small party and then enjoy the zoo! If you want to keep it low key... make it a barnyard party and bring out all of the stuffed animals and "pretend". Make a barn cake or animal cupcakes, party favors pertaining to the farmyard theme etc. Good luck!
The web site www.birthdaypartyideas.com is an excellent resource for party ideas, for any age, any theme, and any size party.
Agreed on Cosley Zoo. I know for larger groups that you can get a member of the staff to take you on a tour and do lessons, but that may be a little much for 2 years old.
When my daughter, also an animal lover, turned 2 we hired BuggyWhip Farms in WI to come out to our house with their animals to have a Birthday party.
They were WONDERFUL!!!! They brought a pony for the kids to ride, and I also got the little baby zoo which consist of baby geese, bunnies, chicks, a pig, a goat, and a lamb, and many more but I can't remember them all.
They were very cheap in price for what you get. The nice thing is, they come to you! Perfect if you have a big backyard. If not, then you can always meet a park or something.
Hope this helps! I refer BuggyWhip to everyone! I know they have a website with their phone number on it. Just search on BuggyWHip farms in Bristol (I think)
I just was at the Lincoln Park zoo today... they do birthday parties! You get exclusive use of the barn, can feed the cows, etc. Sounds like the perfect thing for her.
I agree with Amelia...I was thinking a little zoo would be the perfect sort of thing with her love for animals. We have Cosley Zoo near us (located in Wheaton). I know there are several others like that in different suburbs. Just a little zoo with animals native to IL...like all the farm animals, llama, different kinds of birds and reptiles. The Cosley Zoo has a fun train caboose there as well. And a picnic area. We did a farm theme for my 1st son's 2nd birthday party. (I have an extra package of invites if you live close and want them.) Oriental Trading Company had great farm animal foam hats, along with lots of other fun things too that are inexpensive. Have fun!! :)
