Has anyone tried Native Remedies Anger-Soothe: a homeopathic remedy that reduces irritability, anger and rage, including temper outbursts? I was thinking of trying this for my 10 year old who experiences most of these symptons.

I have no experience with that remedy, but have found homeopathics for the specific conditions I deal with to be wonderful and effective. Since there are no side effects if used as directed, it would be worth a try. Be aware that about 8 out of 10 people get a noticable response to homeopathy; for reasons not understood, 2 out of 10 don't respond. But it's inexpensive to try.
Another angle to consider is "toxic" emotional swings. There are many, many chemicals that are part of our everyday environment that can affect mood in children and adults. Most of these chemicals didn't even exist a few generations ago, so our bodies and nervous systems are not adapted to them.
A very large and well-controlled British study a couple of years ago confirmed that not only several common food colors (two of which are banned in the U.S.), but also the preservative sodium benzoate made hyper kids measurably more hyper. See a report here: http://www.consumerhealthreviews.com/articles/GeneralHeal...
There are also other sensitivities/allergies that make children physically or mentally uncomfortable and hard to please. She might be sending out signals for help, but have no real idea why, if she's just always at odds with her own body.
I have severe chemical sensitivities, and get both physical and emotional symptoms to exposures to perfumed toiletries, home cleaning products, fabric softeners and air "fresheners." (Many of these are just downright toxic.) In group testing situations, I have watched children go from contentedly coloring to bouncing off walls, screaming, crying, or being impossibly stubborn just minutes after having drops of some dilute solution squirted under their tongues.
It would be worth checking out. You can try sealing all suspicious products in plastic bags and using free and clear detergent, baking soda or vinegar for most cleaning for the next 2-3 weeks, and watch for any improvements. If reintroducing the products back into the home then results in worse behavior, you'll have a possible solution to work on.
Sorry- Haven't tried anger-soothe.
I do know that the "homeopathic" opposite of anger-soothe (call it anger-cause?) is food with sugars, white flour, artificial flavors, preservatives, and colors. Avoiding those products help a lot. That means NO pop and NO fruit juice (even the ones that are "100% natural" still get all their calories from sugar--in fruit it's called fructose.)
Another homeopathic remedy is having your son take a walk OUTSIDE somewhere calming. Maybe next to the river, along Minnehaha Pkwy, etc. Let him walk with just you. Better yet, have him take a walk with his dad or other responsible adult male who can understand what he's going through. Don't try to make him talk. Just walk it out. It's good or both of you.
There are a bunch of studies that show how nature calms humans. If you need the research, it's on www.childrenandnature.org
Good luck!
I applaud you for trying homeopathic remedies. While I haven't given this particular remedy to my child (although we have used others), I would suggest consulting with a homeopathic practitioner if you want to take this route. When we took our daughter to a homeopath I learned that homeopathic remedies can be extremely personalized based on many factors. Feel free to message me if you want more info.
To singlestill: Giving a homeopathic remedy is NOT "drugging up" a person. It IS getting to the root of the problem. Homeopathy is its own medical science and has absolutely nothing to do with pharmaceuticals.
I agree with the Mom who suggested that you find out why he is having these anger outbursts. Do not mask his symtoms with any medication but get him into counseling. I would also have him tested for ADD-ADHD-Austisim. While you are having the testing done watch his diet, keep him off yourgurt and MSG. Both of those items can cause meltdowns in ADD-ADHD and Autistic kids.
I wholeheartedly agree with using homeopathic/holistic remedies when possible but first you need to get to the bottom of his issues.
