It is more likely something in the cereal rather than the rice itself. For example, some rice cereals contain soy and since your son is allergic to soy, that could well be the problem. However, it is possible to allergic to rice. You can have kids tested for allergies at any age, you just need to be aware that many allergists only test for immediate allergic reactions and this reaction sounds like it's a more delayed one, so you would want to find someone that will test for IgG antibodies. Also, I'm assuming you are breastfeeding since he's allergic to dairy and soy. If so, some of what you eat may also be causing the reaction. For example, I had an undiagnosed dairy allergy and gluten sensitivity (celiac disease) when I nursed my first child and he reacted to the dairy and gluten in my diet because of the leaky gut from the celiac, there are more than the normal amounts of proteins in my system and thus in my breastmilk.
