I am about 1-2 weeks away from delivering my boy girl twins and was looking into two health journels. They are only available online and didn't have pictures of any of the pages. I thought they might be nice to keep track of all of the medical stuff with the twins, but wanted to know if anyone out there uses these particular journels, has one, or wishes they would have one. The first one is specific to twins "Double Doses: Twins Medical Diary and can only be ordered from a Twins Website. The other is: "My Child's Health Journel" and I can order online from B&N. Any advice would be helpful. THANKS!

I kept a notebook for my triplets. It worked well. Whenever we went to the doctor, I pulled it out of the diaper bag--kept there all the time--and recorded weight, height, percentages, shots etc. I also had a section for emergency things that came up and was able to mark down any firsts so it could be saved for later. The great thing was I was also able to write down what kinds of foods they like and any recommends from the doctor so I could refer to it later. Going to the doc with multiples can be crazy so being able to jot down quick notes is a big time saver.

I also have a notebook I keep for my 17 month old and record the same info.

I just got a baby's first year calendar and wrote everything on that - milestones and illnesses. Unless you are anticipating lots of health problems, a calendar with big squares will work just as well. I hung mine right on the refrigerator so it was nearby and I wrote on it. I found the books were on a shelf and I wasn't so good about writing in those.

The book you are looking at seems to retain everything for 12 years, but it's like everything else. If you don't write it down, it won't be in the book. The doctor's office will have a record of all the shots, checkups, visits and phone calls, so you have that to fall back on.

Everyone has their own system. Just figure out what works best for you and go for it!

Congratulations on your twins! Our boy-girl twins turned 2 this May. It would have been nice to have had twin specific info when ours were born. I just kept that information separately for ours. Fortunately our twins were healthy, with birth weights 8.12 and 5.6, and were ready to leave the hospital before I was... and they've had no complications at all.

Thanks for the info!

I used a 3 ring binder. I used the plastic pocket inserts for pictures, lab results, etc. It workedbest for me because I was not limited by anything and could always add to it. Good Luck.
Congrats!
