Activity Devices/trackers for Bike

I need to get back to exercising. i was in a car accident almost 2 yrs ago and it messed up my feet. I am having more good days so I want to take advantage of it. We are going to join the Y next month so my kids can also enjoy the benefits. Anyway, my job had us sign up with a health site so we could get bonus money that helps offset our cost of insurance. Plus after so many points, you can get gift cards. Unfortunately, none of the gyms I could join are part of their network and I cannot join a gym 30 minutes from home since I would have to workout after work--leaving the kids home. They also work with activity trackers. I want to get one that will count bike and elliptical movement as well as treadmill. If my feet hurt too much, I will have to use the bike. So, does anyone have a tracker that counts movement on a bike and/or elliptical as well as steps taken on a treadmill?

I have a pedometer but it does not calculate bike very well. I do not have a smart phone so has to work without one.
Unfrotunately, the system won't take manual tracking, and a lot of gyms on the Chicago area are not even part of their system--so not fair. I have a spark from spark people that loads my steps--even works for the bike when I have it on my foot--but they won;t accept it.

What can I do next?

Why not invest in a heart rate monitor, instead.?Then you can get an accurate picture of calories burned during a workout, instead of an estimate based on the activity you're doing.
That way it work regardless of what exercise you're doing.

I have a Polar FT40 heart rate monitor that I love.

Most activity trackers like FitBit and apps like MapMyRun and Runkeeper track based on detectable forward or upward motion, so if you're on a stationary bike, it won't know that your active (and MMR and RK, etc. require a smart phone to passively collect your data). That said, all of these apps and devices include the ability to log on to a web-based dashboard and manually enter your activity and some gyms have equipment where you can plug in a USB thumb drive and have it download your workout stats so that you can upload them to a fitness program.

Make sure that your employer's program will accept manually-entered workouts for the fitness bonus. If they will, then whatever program you like and they accept should be fine, you'll just have to update your info on-line each time you work out.

Heartrate trackers such at Garmin will probably do what you need because it tracks your heart rate, not just whether or not you're in motion in a way that can be detected. Those can be a bit expensive though, but friends who have them really like them.

You are joining the Y, don't they have a pool? They should have classes that take place in the pool. Ours has a family pool and a lap pool.

The classes can say something like Silver Swim or Arthritis water class. They are like aerobics but in the water. Some are in the family pool where your feet are on the bottom and some are in the lap pool where you can float with a safety belt on if needed.

You don't have to be a certain age either. Especially the arthritis class. It's for people who have body pain or injury. If the teacher asks just tell them you have feet injuries that won't allow you to do traditional exercise classes.

We go to ours sometimes and my legs don't hurt when I'm done. The water allows me to work out as much or as little as I want to. If I am floating my feet don't hurt either.

So joining a gym makes no sense to me for you since you can't do that sort of exercise....go to the Y and just go to a senior/arthritis exercise class and have fun.

I use the MapMyRun app on my phone I imagine you could load it on any Android device. It tracks all kinds of activity. Run, Gym Workouts, Intervals, Treadmill, Walking, Stairs, Cycling, Mountain Bike, Hiking. I like it very much. :-)
