Hi L.,

The reason tea tree oil works is because one of it's many qualities is it penetrates so it actually gets to the root of the problem (if it is an exterior problem). My daughter's acne is gone because of a line of products with melaleuca oil. If your acne is systemic which is what many people these days have, you need to take a look at your diet and also do a detox to remove the toxins from your system. A good absorbable multivitamin will help as well. Toxins will come out through the skin and create acne if they have no other way to get out.

Hope I helped!

if you have acne use a yogurt mask. Use the continental brand, LEMON FLAVORED. The Acidophilus Culture in the yogurt kills bacteria (thats when whenever you have a yeast infestion the doctor says to eat yogurt). put the lemon flavored continetal yogurt on for 10 mins then rinse of with water, you'll feel your skin become so much smoother and softer. use it once a day until your skin clears up.

Lemon Juice
Simple Solution
The refreshing, uplifting fragrance of lemon is such a great antidote to the winter blahs. But lemon juice does more than give us a much-needed aromatherapy pick-me-up: its all-n/atural beautifying properties have been relied upon by Wise Ones throughout the ages.

Find out how lemon can be put to work for you--to give bounce to and shine to hair, lighten age spots or discoloration, smooth your feet, and make your skin look fresher and younger. Hereâs how.

Lemon is rich in fruit acids that will gently remove dead skin cells and bleach darkened or discolored areas. We recommend you only use fresh-squeezed juice, not the bottled stuff, which contains anti-oxidizing chemicals that are harmful to the skin.

Discontinue using any of these formulas if you experience discomfort or sensitivity.

Here are our lovely, lively lemon beauty tips:

1. To lighten discolored elbows: cut a lemon in half and place one elbow in each half for approximately ten minutes. Lemonâs acids will gently break down the dark patches of skin so they may be washed away.

2. To exfoliate dead skin and diminish the appearance of freckles and age spots, gently rub a cut lemon and 1/2 teaspoon sugar granules over the skin for a few minutes. Repeat at least once a week until the darkened areas fade.

3. Another way to lighten age spots: simply sit with a slice of lemon applied directly to the area for ten minutes. Repeat once a week until spots fade.

4. Lemon hair conditioner: Mix the juice of one lemon with one cup warm water and apply to hair. Allow to remain for a few minutes, then rinse. This will add fresh bounce and shine.

5. Dandruff treatment: Mix a few tablespoons of fresh lemon with warm olive oil and rub gently into scalp. Allow to remain for 15 minutes, then shampoo and rinse as usual.

6. For smooth, pretty feet: In a foot bath, combine 1 cup of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1/4 cup milk and enough water to fill the basin. (You may also add a few drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance, if you like.) Soak feet for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Do this once a week for several weeks for noticeably softer, smoother feet.

7. Astringent toner for oily skin: Combine the following--2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons vodka, 1 tablespoon distilled water, 1 teaspoon witch hazel. Apply with clean cloth or cotton balls to skin, then rinse. Caution: do not apply to broken skin, as it will sting! This formula will keep in the refrigerator for a week.

8. Lemon Juice Astringent: Simpley squeeze some lemon juice into a glass jar, and dab some onto your face every morning, let it set for 10 minutes, then wash it off with warm water followed by a moisturizer. Fresh lemon juice will last for 4-5 days.

GOOD LUCK!

I am pretty sure this is NOT what you want to hear, but when I got pregnant with my firstborn, my adult acne of several years duration disappeared overnight and never returned. And I thought pregnancy would make my skin worse due to my sensitive skin! Not only was Justin a beautiful baby, but he made me beautiful! LOL.

I have heard that lemon juice is helpful (kills germs and dries out some of the oil), or toothpaste. You're supposed to use the paste (not gel) kind and not a whitening one because that may have chemicals which will be too harsh. Dab it on and leave it overnight.

L., acne comes from the inside. Putting stuff "on" it rarely works. I like your idea about tea tree oil and vitamin E at least you are looking at natural resources.

My husband used to get real bad acne since he was a kid. He is now 40. For years he used everything the doctor could/would give him. He was on differnt meds, creams, scrubs, lotions, pills you name it he put it on or in his body. It wasn't untl we discovered nutritional body cleansing that he finally got it under control.

My 13 year old daughter, same thing, she has skin like her daddy, "baby acne", "toddler acne", "kid acne", you name it, the doctor called it something. She too has been "nutritionally cleansing" her body. Sure they have one or two spots every now and again but NOTHING like it used to be for either of them.

If you want to chat, let me know.

Hi L., Have u taken antibiotics ? There free a Publix Grocery Store with a perscription. Go online to Publix.com they have the free one listed. Acne 90% of the time is bacterial. Throw out everything u use to clean your face, body, clean make up brushes and any other appllicators or throw them out too. Only use pump bottle makeup. Almay has a great one out now. Your cell phone, steering wheel, remote controls; etc carry bacteria so must keep hands washed and away from face.I could go on. Good luck.

It all depends on how bad is your acne is but usually you need medicated products to heal and control more breakouts.
A good deep cleansing facial would be the 1st step to do to clean out your skin and then a good home regimen. Its hard to heal if your skin has a lot of clogging up so if your looking for a good deep cleansing facial not a ordinary basic facial your welcome to call me, I have been doing corrective facials for 16 years and specialize in Acne.

Hey L.,

You have gotten a lot of good advice. Just want to agree with those who say your diet has a lot to do with what comes out of your skin. I also use the Melaleuca products like Mimi and I agree that they have made a big difference in my skin. They are all natural and my face is very smooth and super soft. I also look about 10 years younger than I really am, not completely due to the products, but I know they help keep my skin looking very young. I don't have to deal with acne problems either and I use to.

All the best to you!

Volcanic Clay is the best stuff I have found. It looks like green paste in a jar that you put on as a mask at night. Completely natural and it dries up the acne while putting healthy minerals into your skin. Found it here: http://www.atlantisnatural.com/Volcanic-Clay-Green-Mud-Fo...

I have the same problem as you. I have had porcelin skin my entire life, the skin everyone wished they had. I began an intense workout about 6 years ago, lost 50 pounds & got very healthy. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with exema. I don't have a lot of problems with it but every once in a while I will have dry patches. I began at that point having problems with my skin. To a point I agree that some of what you eat shows on your face. But, as I said about my health, I am healthy & I eat healthy. I have some things I should eat because I want to live life. But if my face showed what I eat my skin would be almost perfect. So I don't completely beleive what the others have said. I used Arbonne for a while when I lived in Washington. It is natural skin care. It worked for me when I was in Washington, probably b/c of the differance in weather. Since I moved to Florida I began to have issues again & Arbonne was no longer working for me. I have now been set up on Mary Kay b/c my sister sells it & she got me everything that I need to help out. I do notice it is getting better but it has only been about 3 weeks & sometimes it takes a month of so for your skin to get used to other things. I would go see a dermotologist if you can. I do beleive they have items or can reccomment products that can help people like us. If this doesn't work, I will be doing the same. Good luck! It is no fun being this age & having to worry about it every day!

Hello L.,

try not eating any wheat products for a few days and see if there is an improvement. and then pay close attention when you eat wheat again to see if it makes your acne worse. if so, you may have a gluten intolerance.

also, check your vitamin D levels next time you get any blood work done. good luck! ~C.~
