Acia Berry and Colon Cleanse

Has anyone tried the acia berry and colon cleanse weight loss thing that is advertised everywhere? It's the "I lost x lbs by following this one simple rule" ads that you see everywhere online. It's not really a rule, it's using these two products together and when you click on the ad it takes you to "someones" blog who says they lost a ton of weight and you should get this free trial. I'm looking for maybe a REAL person who has tried it? I kind of want to try it, but I'm leery of the hype.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, that was about what I was thinking, thanks ladies. I cut all the gratuitous sugar out of my diet a week ago and I'm starting to see some results (I eat a lot of candy). I guess I just have to be patient ;)

Any product that claims it can "cleanse" your colon by swallowing a chemical is probably a bunch of bull (unless prescribed by a doctor in preparation for a colonoscopy). Believe it or not, your colon is a very efficient organ that keeps itself very clean and dispels most of its waste without any problems. You only need "aids" if you're feeling constipated. The claim that cleansing your colon will result in weight loss, is also bull. The only thing you might be doing (should these products actually work) is getting rid of excess water or helping move a natural waste process along. You won't lose any weight that way because as soon as you eat or drink anything, the weight just adds back up while your body digests. If you're looking to lose weight, the key is to eat fewer calories than you burn. There are no magic pills/shakes/herbs/etc that can help you (even Alli advertises that you can lose weight with that product, but only if you eat right and exercise.)

I was also looking at this week and was thinking about ordering the trail bottle to try it out. Then I read the fine print and said that if you don't canel it within 14 days you would be billed something like 70.00 and you would receive it every month and you would be charged 70.00 everytime.

Ha! I clicked on those ads as well. They claim you can receive a free bottle, but after giving them your info, they ask for the shipping...probably the amount the product is worth...not FREE as they claim. Guess I need to just cut out the cookies and chocolate and get back to the gym.

A.,

I have not tried the one you are talking about, but I have tried "Colon Blow". (Check out their site - it is NASTY, but sooooo funny!)

It did not work like it is supposed to. All it did was give me 2 days of extreme hunger. (And a slightly cool BM!)

Really, if you are working on weightloss, the ol' healthy lifestyle changes, exercise, and extra fiber is the only way to go.

Good luck!

Be careful before you order anything. I just read an article about how difficult it is to get out of these "contracts". The article specificallly mentioned the Acai berry products. You place an order or request the free trial and then they bill your credit card monthly from anywhere from $40-$80 and when you call to cancel you can't get anyone, the numbers are disconnected, email accounts don't work, etc. I don't remember where I saw it, but I'm thinking it was on abcnews.com or cbsnews.com. You can buy acai berry products at some grocery stores. I think Whole Foods had acai berry products. As for the colon cleanse, I heard on a morning radio program, don't know which one I switch around in the morning, that they work, but you can get a product at GNC or Vitamin Store that works. GNC or Vitamin Store may have acai berry products as well. I would try a store first before I ordered anything. I found the article link:

I am a Shaklee product user and I look into all these ads to see the validity as well as to find out what the competition is doing and there have been no clinical studies done on the effectiveness of these products. as someone else has responded the shipping charges are probably what the products are worth! I do have to say that the colon is the end of the waste center and just like you occaisionally have to pump the septic tank you might want to cleanse the system. It is especially a good idea if you are starting up a new diet regiment. I have done the teaspoon of salt water to 16oz of warm water first thing in the morning and that will liquidate the assets in a hurry! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A TOILET CLOSE BY FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS. I prefer to take probiotics as part of my supplementation program Shaklee has an awesome one here is the link www.shaklee.net/getcleanlivegreen/product/20639

Shaklee also has a product called Vivix that does all the Acai berry does and much more here is that link www.shaklee.net/getcleanlivegreen/vivix

Don't order anything!! I almost fell into the exact same pit. A girl I know ordered a free trial of that acai berry and discovered that they will bill you up to $85 30 days after requested, not after being shipped, plus they signed her up for some fitness subscription she never heard of. She hadn't received the free trial before being billed for both. Also, some of the phone numbers listed only give you busy signals. After finding a number and canceling it, she was still being billed for both and finally had to cancel her account. Finally, some of the acai berry sites online are claiming to be endorsed by Oprah, but the product she was talking about was called Acai juice, and it wasn't a weightloss plan, it was just a dietary supplement that was healthy for you.
