My daughter has just moved in with me in Laguna Niguel after leaving an abusive marriage in another state. She has 2 boys ages 20 months and 4 years. She has worked as a receptionist/appointment desk in Medical Offices and at a call center before her children were born. She is in a very difficult situation and there are so few jobs available for someone without a degree. She is a beautiful girl, has a great personality and loves people and children. She has a prosthetic hip so working retail would be very difficult as she cant be on her feet that many hours. If you know anyone who might be hiring please send me a note. Thank you and please keep her little family in prayer as they go through this very difficult time!

Temp Agency!!

After I left the relationship with my son's father, I signed up with three and found a great job working for a general contractor as an office person and ended up getting hired permanently as their Office Manager.

It was very valuable experience and helped me get back in the work force. Most Temp Agency's also have listings for straight to hire jobs, and if they have something that fits they can placed me right away.

Good Luck!

Yes, try a Temp agency.
I used to work for one, in HR... and it's a good place to find employment. Many times, a company will hire you if they like you.
And, if with a temp agency, at least the one I worked for, if you are a 'full time' Temp... you CAN get benefits too.
And they place you for jobs, which are not necessarily 'advertised' to the public.

All the best,
Susan

Hi B.,

I third the vote for a temp agency. The job market for receptionist/clerical is a bit tight right now, but companies turn to temp agencies because its cheaper for them.
A few to try: AppleOne, Kelly Services, and Kimco.
I was hired at my current job after being a temp for 6 months because they liked my work.
Also - have her put a resume together, and post on Monster.com / hotjobs.com / and yahoojobs -- just watch out for emails where they want your bank information, or come to a seminar those are usually scams or mulitlevel marketing.

Keeping you and your daughter in my prayers.
I've been where she is now -- it gets better.

Hi, My name is S.. I just gave birth to my 3rd child on 11/23/08. I was dreading going back to work, especially with the bad economy. I signed on as an independent consultant for a wellness company. I am now earning a paycheck from home while I stay with my 1 year old and 2 month old. There was no large investment to make, and I am not responsible for selling any products. If you are interested and have just 30 minutes to spare I can explain in more detail. Please email me directly at ____@____.com.
