What do you Mama's do with your Intex pools when winter rolls around? This was our first Summer to have it and we don't know wether to drain it and take it down or treat it, cover it and leave it up all winter. It's sixteen feet in diameter. Thanks so much! :)

What can I do next?

Our is 18x48. My husband drains it, dries it really good and stores it in the garage. The first one we had when my daughter was in kindergarten. She is in 9th grade now. The only reason why we replaced it was we were nervous. I was afraid the seems were getting old. Intexs are amazing :)

I really think you should store it. I don't think they were made to withstand the winter. It may tell you on the website.

We always treated ours and covered it and hoped for the best come spring time ;) If you drain it, usually bad things happen.

Of course, our climate is much different. We drain it, wash it, and roll it up and store it in the basement. However, after the 2nd year, when we took it back out, we had a few pin hole sized leaks. This was our 3rd summer, we've decided to trash it and buy a new one next year.

We had our 15ft diameter one in Colorado, so we knew it couldn't stay out all winter. We drained it, rolled it up and stored it in the garage. Every year it had a couple of pinprick holes which were easily patched up. We had that pool for 4 years and it got LOTS of use! We miss it...

Drain it. We don't cover it. We clean it in before winter and again in the spring.

Ours is 15' soft sided (buying the pole type next summer). For the past 3 years we just drain, dry, roll it up AND store it off the ground. When we stored it onto the ground small animals climbed around on it... and we got holes. Once we stashed it up, they've left it alone. Honestly, we just put it in a wheelbarrow that doesn't get used in the wintertime.
