Doctors SAY that the two aren't connected... but generations upon generations of experienced mothers say different. My DD always gets the runs when she's teething.
Hello, mommas
My 16 month old daughter has had some abnormal poop patterns this week. Off and on she has had what the day care provider calls "liquid poop". She has a strong affinity for fruits, so after the first time we tried to push the "brat" foods. And that seemed to help a little. But today she had 3 major blowouts! :(. She is also teething like crazy; I mean she is literally like a faucet. Besides today I would not have said that her behavior was out of the ordinary. Today though she did appear fussier than normal and when I took her temp earlier it was 99.3. I already have an appt with her ped on Tuesday (weight check), so I certainly will talk to the dr. Then, but I was hoping you moms might shed some light on this before then. Can the teething cause liquid poop? Or do you suspect something else going on?
Thank you!

Yup, I totally agree with everyone else. Dr. says they are not related, but my boys always had diarrhea when they were teething. Maybe it's from swallowing all that drool.
My Dr. said teething won't cause diarrhea but every time my son cut a few teeth it sure did. He also ate a lot more soft food since his mouth hurt so bad. I wouldn't be concerned if it doesn't last too long and she seems "normal" other than that.
Teething is so hard on their little body. Multiple teeth trying to break through and molars cause lots of liquid poop and fever.
My son is 14 months old and he is going thru the same thing... Loves fruits and now he doesn't want to eat ANYTHING except for bananas!!! He is drinking whole milk so he is having loose stool. Had fever (100.5) and he is behaving is driving me crazy... Is used to sleep 9-10 hours straight... now he is waking up at night once or twice... THIS TEETHING PROCESS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!
Yup! My son always has more liquid of poop when he's teething. Usually when it's multiple teeth :(
Yep... it can cause weird poop and fever. How come Moms all know this and Dr.s always tell us it's unrelated??
