A Question for All My Other 'Cold Weather Friends'...

It seems like I'm the only one that has the problem where my legs get and stay cold all day long! Everyone around me seems to be fine. My upper body stays warm, but no matter what, my legs are almost always freezing! I have good circulation. No diabetes. Great BP. I guess my main question is, do your legs get and stay cold or am I the weirdo? Also, if your legs do get cold, what do you wear during the cold weather months to keep warm?
I want to come up with jeans lined with fleece or flannel or something. Something that I can wear to work and still look ok. I can't wear snow pants to work!
ETA- My jeans are not overly tight, but not feasable to wear anything other than some nylons maybe. I do sit, but I get up and walk around too.
To add some more... My legs are not thin by any stretch of the imagination (my waist is 30", hips 40", each thigh is over 20" around, and I only have a 25" inseam). My feet are almost always too warm. It's just my legs.
I work in a shop that builds military trucks - No skirts in the shop environment. I'm FAR from feminine and I'm ok with that.
Thanks for the help and the links to go to as well!

I love Cuddl Duds. They are thermal underwear, but very thin and super soft. I think they work great. Here is link for them through amazon, but they sell them at lots of stores too, like Kohls, Penneys, KMart, etc.

You are not the only weirdo! When my legs get cold they tend to stay that way too. I just wish I could explain why! Same thing happens to my bottom ;o)
I have a pair of tight running pants that I wear under my jeans. They were a hand-me-down from my MIL. At first I though "what in the world will I do with these? I don't run outside in the cold." Then I discovered that they fit nicely under my jeans! They are tight like leggings so they fit under my jeans (even the ones that hug my legs) and they are just thick enough to add a bit of warmth. They sell them everywhere and look like spandex. They stay put and do not bunch up like flannel or thermal pants would.
Good luck and stay warm!

My legs freeze, too. I used to wear nylons bec they do provide some insulation. I found a silk base layer at Cabelas.com that is almost as thin. Now I wear that and it helps a ton.

LEG WARMERS! They are mostly for teens, but you can find them at Target and Marshals in the sock area. Also, I have a blanket in my drawer which I wrap around my legs, I sit at a desk so no one can see it.
cuddle duds are great too!

HA! I wear underarmour under my jeans. All winter long I wear underarmor, jeans, technical fabric shirt, OutdoorResearcg first layer on top of that, 2 jackets, a hat, & smartwool socks up to my knees unless I'm in my flip flops (I wear flips all year... my feet almost never get cold. _
The underarmor is fantastic... because it's as thin as spandex. Goes under my jeans GREAT and is all silky so they don't bunch up or anthything. And they (and the knee high socks) keep my legs almost warm (add movement, or a floor length bathrobe ;), and I'm good).

I went to Old Navy and got some men's long underwear to put under my jeans. That helps, but my feet are frozen pretty much from Dec-March, no matter WHAT I wear on them!

I love my expedition weight Patagonia long underwear. They are black fleece. I can wear them just by themselves at night and around the house and stay snuggly warm. They are designed for hikers to be able to stay warm when camping in snowy climates. Anyhow, I have fit them underneath my jeans before, but they are thicker than most long underwear. You could always try a light weight or medium weight long underwear (which would be thinner), but I would splurge and get a quality product from an outdoor store.
I often find that my coldest spots are the places where I carry a little extra fat (for lack of a better word), like my tush and thighs.

Wierdo. LOL! That was fun. :) Do you sit a lot? Could be cutting off circulation. Do your jeans fit snug? Same thing.... I'd mention it to the doc next time I went.

I have a Girl Scout troop, and in order to take them camping I had to take a class. In this class they taught us how to dress. At 40 I thought, "Hey!...I know how to dress!" But I was wrong. Here's what I learned. Denim actually will cool you down. So will cotton, silk, and nylon. So wear those in the summer. In order to keep warm, wear polyester, fleece, lycra, spandex, and especially wool. Actually any fabric made from animal fur will work, (although I personally don't advocate fur as I think it's cruel unless you're eating what the fur came from.) I have a pair of polyester/lycra long johns that are so thin that I can wear them under my jeans and they keep me warm. I got them at Walmart. Wool socks will also help, because we lose most of our body heat through our feet, hands and head. And a nice pair of winter boots helps too. I put my socks over the thermal pants so the wind doesn't creep up my legs. Hope this helps you.

I don't have this problem, but I do have some suggestions as someone who used to get COLD all over when everyone else was fine:
Carhart pants (if you aren't all ready wearing them) and Smart Wool long johns. The Smart Wool undies are pricey - but SO worth it & they'll last for 5-10 years. If you need something less bulky, silk longjohns are easy to wear under even the snuggest jeans. I pretty much used to wear silks until summer.
Lately, I have been having hot flashes....so I don't need 'em anymore.
I was going to ask "Have you tried putting on some pants?" but wasn't sure that it would come across that I was kidding....

I've got two words for you: WOOL SOCKS!
They are hard to find (100% wool or bamboo is not bad either) but once you locate some--get a bunch! I have had luck at Marshalls & TJ Maxx mostly--department stores don't carry them.
When your feet are warm & dry your whole body stays warm!
Are your feet cold too? I would start with making sure my feet are warm, dry and snuggy. And then if my legs are still cold, I swear by wearing SILK undergarments. They are so soft, smooth, not bulky and keep me warm everywhere.
I've been living in negative temps for a couple of months now and still have not worn a sweater. Still waiting for sweater weather. Just my silk undergarment and a 3/4 length sleeved Tshirt keep me warm. I wear a good down coat when out and about.

I wear long johns under my jeans/pants in the winter. They make silk or capilene long underwear that is soft and thin and very warm. (Don't get cotton) It's great! I get mine at REI. Also, I want to add that Smartwool socks are the best!

That doesn't seem normal. If you haven't seen a dr. about it, you might want to be sure everything is ok.
I'd check out LLBean, they have flannel lined jeans.

I have scrawny legs and they're always cold. I wear tights or knit leggings and thicker socks.
You might go online and look in the Cabella's catalog. I know that they do make lined pants, I've seen them. I think Cabella's carries them.
It's worth a try.
Best wishes and stay warm!

I wear skrits with silk or nylon leggings underneath. I also have boots with wool socks. I stay very warm. You can even layer a flannel slip under the skirt for added warmth. Of course, if you don't like to wear skirts, that won't help. I love wearing skirts as I think they are feminine and much more comfortable than pants. I live in Colorado, so it gets really cold here.
