Guinot (Auto Bronze Self Tanning Cream).
It's not cheap (got mine @ Gene Juarez), but it works very very well. It's also brown, so you can see as you're applying it that it's even. I just used it on my legs this year, and it matched to my natural color on my arms perfectly after 2 applications. I've used it allover other years, but this was the first year I actually had normal skin to compare it to. The skincare dept./spa @ Gene Juarez gives out free samples of most of their products so you could get one of those and test it first.
As for getting rid of the old color, time is the best method. 2nd best is to go tanning. You could try bleaching agents (like lemon juice, or _____acid lotions, or search Asian skin care...the Japanese in particular use products to make their skin whiter), but do you really want to be soaking your skin in so many chemicals? It's also possible for them to react with each other and you could end up with a worse problem than just orange. Like red, and painful!
If you've had a misadventure with your face, I would suggest seeing a licensed professional @ a spa. They may be able to figure something out for you, or if not, they could concoct a heavier foundation for you to wear while your skin returns to normal.
Good Luck!
