Hello,
I had my 4th baby 9 wks ago. I was under the wrong assumption that EB around the clock is reliabke BC. At 5 1/2wks pp hubby and i resumed intercourse 1-2 x a wk. On feb13-15 when i wiped once or twice those days i had tan mucus 1st day, very light pink 2nd day, very faint tan 3rd day then nothing since. Typically, iresume my periods at 6 mon PP. I usually have implanation spotting. I am a little lightheaded and some nausea off and on. I tested on feb 17th-BFN.

My husband is getting his vesectomy next month. We are obviously ok if i am pregnant again and ok if i'm not. Does anyone know when i should test since i have no period to go by? Should i wait 2 wks from first day of possible implantation spotting? I have never experienced this b4 in previous PP . This last baby i didn't get pregnant until i was only BF my 15 mon old twice a day and pumling once a day. Thats why i find it hard to believe i got prgnant BF 8x a dsy & pumping 20oz milk out everyday. It is driving me crazy as i just don't feel right. Maybe hormones? Sorry so long!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the wuick responses! Sorry about the typo. I meant exclusive breastfeeding. I did take the one $ tree test yesterday and it was negative but it was only 3 days after suspected implanation spotting. May or may not be accurate. Guess i will retest ghis coming weekend since i bought 3 $ tree tests. We will be happy and content either way. Although hubby would probably like to hVe a boy! :) ( we have 4 girls). Will let u know! Thanks!

I have a couple friends who got pregnant while breastfeeding, before they ever got their periods back. It is totally possible!

Exclusive breastfeeding is not birth control -- that's why a lot of women start their periods long before the child starts solids and the mom stops feeding. As with all "am I pregnant" questions, you're just going to have to wait and test. I don't think you need to wait two weeks, but you could stock up on tests from the dollar store -- I understand they are as reliable as the expensive ones. Me, I'd probably stock up on them and test every couple of days (I'm compulsive like that) -- or see your doctor.

You can get pregnant immediately following delivery. It's your most fertile time ever. Exclusively breastfeeding is not considered birth control at all, let alone reliable birth control. That's why when you're breastfeeding you're supposed to ALWAYS use a back-up method and why as long as you don't get a period while breastfeeding, you should be taking a pregnancy test every month.

Sex plus no birth control can always equal pregancy, with or without breast feeding.
If you are planning on a vascetomy anyways, use birth control until he gets his free and clear check from his follow-up appointments.

If yo uhad unprotected sex, BF'ing or not, unprotected sex equals potential preganancy. Go take a test.

Keep in mind, even after your hubby gets the snip snip, he is still "live" sometimes for a long time. it took a solid 4 months for my hubby to come "clear" and I STILL stayed on birth control to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. Only after my hysterectomy when I knew I had no working parts was I able to completely let go... without the fear of potential pregnancy.

Early Breastfeeding?
Hun, you have 4 kids, why dont you tell us?
I would assume if implantation has occurred, you can take a pregnancy test.
Take a test and let us know.

I got pregnant 3 months after my daughter was born. She was EBF. I found out a month later because I was having pains. Make sure you're using bc. We used condoms, and it still happened.

The health department has free pregnancy testing from what I've been told by a few friends. I would want to know for sure, if you are pregnant you need to have those needed resources in your body for the growing fetus.

I would wait two more weeks and test again. It could just be too early to show up.

Chances are you are no pregnanct and what you are observing are just symptoms related to post partum and breastfeeding hormones, though if you are not using any BC, a pregnancy is certainly possible... even if it is unlikely.

Maybe you can use condoms until your husband is cleared?

Good luck!
