So a few days back I was driving around with my niece and my 8 month old son and all of a sudden she shouts that O had unbuckled his chest clip. I thought I just had forgotten to buckle it and then she looked and seen it unbuckled. Nope. Today I made sure I know I buckled it because it clipped me and when we got to Home Depot it was unclipped! Does anyone know of a cover for a Britax seat? Or something else i can do??
Thanks guys! I know that his chest piece is supposed to be at his arm pits and it always is. His straps are also as tight as they are supposed to be. So I have no idea how he does it.
My daughter was Houdini baby by the time she was this age she could get OUT of her car seat. I think she's made of rubber.
Anyway I'm not sure how the Britax seats are made , but if you can slide it up further on his chest he might not be able to see the clip well enough to get it undone. Or maybe wrap a piece of heavy duty velcro around it after you clip it.
We used one of those cabinet door locks, the ones that have the plastic straps that slide through, and ratched it down tight. Our houdinie quit trying when it would not get her anywhere. Duct tape works too, but then is a pain to get off. I feel your pain!

My daughter did the same thing. we just moved the clip up further and made it alittle tighter. She used to get out of it all the time. She would get her arms out of the straps and they were behind her. So we just made them tighter. She can no longer get her arms out and she is alot safer now.
Be sure you are buckling him in properly and tightly. The chest clip is supposed to be even with the child's armpits. Cinch the straps down to where you have difficulty putting one finger under the chest clip.
I know it sounds rough to put them in so tight, and I am only passing along what my husband taught me. He is an automotive engineer, and has spent years building and racing streamliner race cars out at the Bonneville Salt Flats. He says that when he buckles in a driver that if the driver doesn't complain that the belts are too tight, then the belts are not tight enough. He has used this rule of thumb with our boy since the beginning.

The clip should be arm pit height and you should only be able to get two fingers in between the strap and your child. Sounds like the straps may not be tight enough.
