I have a 6 mos old that since being sick with a very bad cold, will not sleep in her crib. When she was sick we had her sleeping in her carseat so she could be upright and breathe. Now we cant get her to sleep flat on her back at all. She still will only sleep in her carseat. Any suggestions on how I can get her sleeping in her crib again? I am worried about her getting too big and she likes to wiggle. Thanks

What can I do next?

Have you tried putting the car seat in her crib and weaning her out of it that way?

Hi L.
When I had this problem with my son I put a pillow under the crib mattress to elevate it like the careseat and he started to sleep in his crib again. Good Luck :)T.

Hi, L.!

How funny...we literally just dealt with this last week! My little boy is also 6 months and had a string of three ear infections in February, so we had him sleeping in his car seat. After they were gone, he refused to go back to his crib. Last Tuesday, I heard him waking up, and then heard a "thunk!" He had wiggled out of the car seat and landed upright in front of it!

I decided enough was enough and that day I let him sit in his crib with me there and his mobile going so he could get used to it. That night I did his exact bedtime routine and put him down exactly the same way but in his crib. I covered him with his blanket (crocheted so it has holes for air!) and let him cry for about 10 minutes until he went to sleep. He woke up three times the first night and cried for 10-15 minutes each time. The next night was two times. Now he sleeps from 8:30pm until about 6am, gets up to eat and get his diaper changed, then goes back to sleep until about 8am!

If your daughter was used to sleeping in her crib before, then hopefully she'll be like my son and go back to it without too much fuss. I also make him take his naps in there so it's consistent and he doesn't get confused. Good luck!!

I had to buy one of those wedges that go underneath the sheet since my little man had reflux SOOO bad. He slept in a bouncy seat the first 6 months of his life.
It took a couple of days for him to get used to but it worked.
Perhaps if you do this, you wont need to use the carseat again. The wedge keeps them propped!
