Hello Mamas,

I'm planning on having a big birthday party for my soon to be 5 year old daughter. She loves princess Jasmine. I was hoping do have a princess come from a party company to do face-painting and maybe entertain the kids. Have any of you had any great experiences with this or can you recommend a company that does this????? Any advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. We live on the westside of LA.

Thank You!

If you have a friend or relative with a teenage daughter, hire her to play the part, her friends to do the hair and makeup, etc.

Definitely call Happy Parties (www.happyparties.info). They do this in their sleep. They know the best talent in town for the best prices. They can make recommendations and work within your budget. It's based in Studio City, but do parties all over LA. Check them out!

Check out the Party Marketplace on www.pepperspollywogs.com/c/ and type in your zip code. It will come back with all the kids party providers near you in their directory, and you can see what is out there and what their rates are. I think a facepainter is a great idea, and will sure to be a hit with that age group!

Good luck!

I don't know any companies in your area, but I know face painting has always been a big hit at our family gatherings. We usually buy the paint and do it ourselves. I have a couple of talented people in the family that can do it, but the kids don't care how good they are. Honestly though, the kids have more fun painting each others' faces, hands, arms, and legs. A good face paint comes off easily and doesn't stain. It can be bought at most department and dollar stores.
