If you have heard of or used the 3 Day Potty Training System, does it work? Any potty training advice appreciated. Getting ready to start with my 28 month old girl, she is ready & I want to make sure we get started on the right path.

How many undies do I need to have, what is realistic?

What can I do next?

I tried stuff like that for my oldest and here's what I came to realize. When they are ready they will be trained. You can do all kinds of stuff to try to have them trained, but if they are not on board, it doesn't really make a difference. Both my kids were about 3 1/2 before giving up diapers, but when they did, we were completely done. Only had a few accidents each. Part of it may have to do with me not wanting to clean dirty underwear, but I think they just were not ready when I thought they should start.

I have not read/heard about the 3 day method, but both of my boys were trained in 3 days. What I did was put them in pull ups when they first started showing interest, and than I waited until they were peeing in the potty at least 50% of the time (by than they were both pooping in the potty most of the time), and that point we went to undies. The first day is always bad. I remember my older son had 13 accidents and was begging for his pull up back, but I said no, he was a big boy and he would get it. The 2nd day he had 2 accidents, and by day 3 he had it down. Sure there was the occasional mishap for the first couple of months, but if you just stick it out those first 3 days the worst of it is behind you, as long as they are truly ready.

hello i have heard it and gotta tell you yes and no. ok here is my advice i potty trained my daughter just after 2 years and she was ready and it went great i let her be naked had a potty her size in the front room we stayed home for a few days. i limited her liquids so she could gain control. 1/4 cup 4 times a day and supper was the last. when she slept she was in a diaper BUT she was to tyr to potty before bed. WOKE UP DRY EVERY TIME. wehn we did venture out she was in swaet type pants no pantys. with a dog training pad in her car seat. we went straight to the bath room when we got whereever or if it was a long trip we went and tryed every 20mins or so. within a week she was complete no accidents and day and night trained. Slowly introduced drinks to a normal so she could get used to the abundance of liquid and learning to control it. i didnt do any reward charts bc i didnt want her to think that she got something everytime bc what happens when you eventually stiop rewards there is REGRESSION possibilities. she has been a potty goer for a year now and no regrets. no problems and no set backs. i never used pull ups she went from diaper to potty. Good Luck and if you want more info just pm me. Good Luck

I trained both my boy (at age 32 months) and my girl (at age 28 months) in 3 days. I put them in cotton panties and told them not to pee in their panties. On the 3rd day they got it and no more accidents..

My daughter had less accidents fromthe 1st day. my son had lots of accidents on the first 2 days..

I recommend gerber training pants.. thick cotton. they are sold 3 in a pack at target and walmarts about $7. I would think 3 packs of 3 pairs would be enough.

I tried it twice with both of my kids and it did not work for us...at all. But my SIL had pretty good success with it. Her eldest took to it right away and it worked. With her youngest, she was not successful the first go around. So she continued working with her for another month and then tried the three day method again. After that no more accidents. I know lots of mom's who swear by it and lots who are unconvinced. I say give it a shot...what can it hurt, especially if it works? But you have to be fully committed to it for three whole days (most people I know mentioned zero success until the end of the third day). It's a long three days. GL!

Kind of. I had heard about it, but never ordered the official information. I DID however do the basic thing with my son and we were happy with it.

We did it in a weekend at 25 months. Friday night he ran out of diapers. (got pull ups for night time just so they'd be different than diapers) Saturday we hung out the whole day in the living room. He was bare bottomed and his potty chair was there. We watched the Elmo Potty Time movie over and over (cause he likes it), drank lots of water, ate treats etc.

Every half hour or so I asked if he wanted to use the potty. If he did he went, if not, not.

Sunday we did the same for the morning, then at noon put on big boy undies (gerber cloth trainers) and went to Target. He used the potty there when we got there (I carried a fold-able plastic seat cover thing)and was fine.

Monday he went to day care in underwear with several changes of clothes in case. He had an accident or two at school every day that week (usually waiting for the potty or while playing outside), and after that he was set.

A month later he was waking up dry at night, so we went to undies at night as well.

How many undies you need depends on how much laundry you want to do. I'd buy a couple of packs (3 pairs per pack) of the Gerber ones (the thick cotton undies) now and see how it goes. If you want more, they aren't hard to find. You'll probably need 2 or 3 pairs a day at first.

I used it and it worked great! I bought probably 20 panties, but I bought 10 in the size she wore and 10 in the size up. After 2 years, we are finally buying new panties. Did you already order the info? If not send me a message with your email and I will forward the document to it.
My biggest suggestion on potty training is make sure YOU are ready too! It takes patience and (with the method) staying home for the 3 days. When we got up in the morning and put all the diapers in the garbage my daughter had a complete melt down. But by the end of the day she was doing great.
I also bought a pack of the cloth training pants and we used those as "nighttime" panties. They still leak but I thought maybe they would absorb a little more.
