yes she could be. My first daughter was diagnosed with allergies to cats when she was around 20 months old. She just had to take allergy meds when around them.
My 2 year old niece just came back from her fathers after two weeks. Her father didn't say she had a runny nose or anything but after a couple hours playing with my new cat she seems to have a running nose. He father is allergic to dogs, is there a possibility that she could be allergic to cats?

It's possible, but 2 year-olds get runny noses for a hundred other reasons besides an allergy to cats. I wouldn't jump to that conclusion first thing.
People react differently to allergies, but my son has a cat allergy and his immediate response is itchy and watery eyes.
That's what is sounds like. My 4 y.o. son has all kinds of allergies. He recently had allergy tests done (plus he has eczema on top of it all). It really helps knowing. We have 8 cats and altho I clean the house of cat fur and stuff everyday, he still had a bit of a runny nose. But, when he went to his Grammy's house (who has a big dog), he would get really bad. He takes a syrup antihistamine and nose spray everyday and it really has helped (plus it helps with his eczema).
Possible. But yes, there are so many reasons for a runny nose. If it does turn out to be allergies, there can be contributing factors exacerbating the allergies, such as some foods (dairy is a common culprit).
My husband has a contact allergy to cats, and we religiously used a product called Allerpet weekly on our household's two cats. We also had no cats in our bedroom. The cats had access to the bedroom of the one daughter who had no such allergies.
I once was having a severely cat-allergic niece come visit. For that visit, we had a neighbor keep both cats starting two weeks prior to my niece's visit, and thoroughly cleaned the entire house - floor to ceiling, even washing all the walls!! I was so relieved she could stay in our home and have no reaction. Severe allergies are not something to play around with. However, fortunately, most people have much much milder reactions.
